Chapter 463 - "I will live a good life in this world." (2)

Lo and behold, the original owner was able to get some money from Ye Zhiqiang. With the first success, Lin Zixiang would want her to do that again. She even helped with coming up with ideas. She had the original owner bring the two children with her and cried about being poor in front of Ye Zhiqiang.

She made sure that she looked as pitiful as she possibly could. If the original owner looked the way she did before, Ye Zhiqiang wouldn’t even give her a second look.

After she had lost some weight, however, the original owner was much prettier. Ye Zhiqiang actually had a soft spot for her when she cried in front of him with their two children.

Li Jiaojiao found out about that later on and the original owner died in a car accidently shortly thereafter. Shu Yan saw the calm look on the driver as he drove away.

The scene changed. It was a scene where JingJing was abused by others in jail. She looked awful and finally committed suicide before she was released.

Then there was the moment when Tianbao also died in a car accident. It looked to be the same driver that killed the original owner, except older. He looked as calm as he had just run over a duck or a chicken instead of a human being.

The dream stopped there. Shu Yan had already found the answer that she wanted. All the pieces came together. The original owner was murdered, and Li Jiaojiao was the mastermind behind it all as the original owner threatened her status.

Then there were JingJing and Tianbao. They threatened the status of Li Jiaojiao’s child, which brought about their ending the way it happened.

“What’s the matter?” asked Feng Zeyu when he saw Shu Yan covered in sweat.

“Oh, nothing. I had a nightmare.” Shu Yan pursed her lips, drank a glass of water, and calmed herself down. “I am sticky from the sweat. Let me go take a shower.”

“Okay. You go.” Feng Zeyu helped Shu Yan fetch her clothes.

When she laid back down, Shu Yan was very glad that she came. Not so much because she had changed the original owner’s fate. Whoever is pitiful must have a cause to be despised. There were many weaknesses in the original owner that Shu Yan could not stand. But Shu Yan was glad that she was able to change JingJing and Tianbao’s fate. One way or another, she wanted them to grow up peacefully.

All kinds of thoughts went through Shu Yan and she was finally a little sleepy when it was daybreak. But, by then, Shu Jianyang was over, having them get ready to head into the village. Shu Yan decided to just get up, get ready, and sleep on the car ride back instead.

“Did you sleep well last night?” asked Li Miaomiao when she saw how tired Shu Yan looked.

“No, I had a nightmare. I’ll sleep some more in the car.” It would take hours to travel to Lingan Village from City Xi anyway.

Shu Yan had another dream when she dozed off while leaning on Feng Zeyu’s shoulder. This time it wasn’t a dream about the original owner but about herself.

Shu Yan’s spirit had returned to her original world, and she saw cops going in and out of her old apartment. She saw her neighbors standing around pointing and chatting. From bits and pieces of what they were saying, she learned that she was playing on her cellphone while it was being charged and her phone exploded. She passed out during the explosion and the charging cord knocked down a glass of water that she had sitting on the nightstand and she was electrocuted.

That very second, a new memory that did not exist previously entered Shu Yan’s brain. She wasn’t sleeping at the time but was reading a novel on her phone. She saw sparks coming from her phone but wasn’t quick enough to toss it away. The last thing she heard was a BANG and she lost consciousness.

So…… she died. Which was why she had transmigrated to become Shu Yan in the novel.

In a trance, Shu Yan saw her parents crying bitterly, holding onto each other.

“I told her to come home, and you wouldn’t listen. I said to get married, and you wouldn’t listen. You live here by yourself and nobody even knows that you have died.” Mother Shu griped as she cried, sounding extremely heartbroken.

Father Shu too was covered in tears and couldn’t even speak.

Shu Yan, too, was covered in tears when she saw them. She called out to them loudly, but they couldn’t hear her. She walked over to them and noticed that her body was already composing. The cop said that she didn’t go to work one day, so her company contacted her parents. Her parents rushed over to City Nan and contacted her friends there at the same time. All of them said they hadn’t seen Shu Yan. Her phone had been off, so her company called the cops.

Shu Yan didn’t care about any of those. She only wanted to talk to her parents. One would only know how much one’s parents had done for them when they had become a mother. That saying is so true. Now that she had her own child, she knew how difficult it was to be parents.

“Mom, Mom. I was wrong. I will listen to you from now on. I will never do the exact opposite of what you told me. I’m sorry, Mom. I’m sorry, Dad. I missed you so much. I really missed you.”

Shu Yan cried as she went to the police station with them, then the funeral home. They returned to their hometown and had her funeral there. She saw her little brother rushing back and cried with her parents.

She called out as loudly as she could but, unfortunately, nobody could hear her.

On this day, Shu Yan suddenly entered into a white space. She walked and walked and found herself in the living room of her home and her parents were sitting on the couch.

“Mom, Dad……”

“Yanni, is that you? My Yanni! Mom was wrong. I shouldn’t have pressured you. You wouldn’t have moved so far away from home had I not pressured you and then you wouldn’t have……”

“Yanni?” Father Shu lifted his hand and wanted to touch his daughter on her cheek.

Holding Father Shu’s hand, Shu Yan said, “Dad, it’s Yanni. I am back to see you.”

As she said that, the three of them hugged each other and cried. Shu Yan had a feeling that she would be taking off after she had seen her parents this time. She stopped crying as there was a lot that she wanted to tell them.

She had nothing to hide from her parents. Shu Yan told them that she didn’t really die but she had transmigrated to a parallel universe. She had even gotten married and become a mother. She told them about Feng Zeyu and Xiao Bao. And that she made a good friend by the name of Hu Ruixue. None of them pieced together. She just blurted out whatever that came to her mind.

Shu Yan felt a pull on her body and she looked at her parents longingly. “I feel that I will be leaving now. Dad, Mom, you take good care of yourselves. I will be your daughter again in my next life.”

Seeing that Shu Yan had disappeared, Father and Mother Shu woke up screaming. The two exchanged a look and their dream and believed that it was their daughter who had entered their dreams.

“Lao Shu, do you think there really are spirits?” Mother Shu found that hard to believe but she wanted to. That meant that her daughter was still alive somewhere else.

“Of course there are. Well, there’s only one way to find out for certain.” Father Shu got up and went over to Shu Yan’s room. He found Shu Yan’s diary in her drawer like she had told them and unlocked it with the code that was given to him. They found a photo of their family on page one and tears streamed down their cheeks.

“Our daughter. She’s still alive……” said Mother Shu, being both happy and sad.

“Yanyan, Yanyan……”

Shu Yan opened up her eyes and saw a very anxious-looking Feng Zeyu.

“You are awake.” Feng Zeyu let out a sigh of relief. He really had a feeling earlier that Shu Yan would never wake up again and his heart ached. “You kept crying and I wasn’t able to wake you. Was it another nightmare?”

Feng Zeyu remembered Shu Yan telling him in the past about her experiences back in her hometown. She must have experienced too many traumas here, which was causing all of her nightmares. He decided that they would return to City Nan immediately after New Year and not a moment longer.

“I am fine. I just……” Shu Yan wiped away her tears. “I just had a dream about joy, sadness, coming together, and splitting up.”

“It’s alright. I am here with you,” said Feng Zeyu as he held Shu Yan.

“Mmm.” Feeling the warmth from Feng Zeyu’s body, Shu Yan’s lips curved upward some. Dad, Mom, don’t worry. I will live a good life in this world.
