Chapter 79.2: Guarding Her For a Whole Night, Chance Encounter

Gong mama carried a lantern in her hand as she stood in front of Jing Wan’s door, coldly glaring at the approaching figure, “Wangye coming here in the middle of the night…….”

“Enough, this prince just wants to see her, I won’t do anything.” Li Hong Yuan impatiently waved his hand and interrupted her. If not for the fact that she wholeheartedly considered for Wan Wan, just based her obstructing him time after time, he would’ve just directly sent her off to see his birth mother. After all, that was her actual first master, no? She even had once saved her(Gong mama) life.

However, as soon as he thought of ‘closely serving’, he inevitably recalled that previous problem. As a result, his gaze towards Gong mama became increasingly cold and sharp.

Gong mama very much doubted his words, but his gaze was becoming increasingly unfriendly. Moreover, in those eyes of his, he carried a bit of something else. Why was it like as if he was looking at his greatest enemy? She’d only just blocked the door, there wasn’t the need to go this far, right? Gong mama retreated a step.

Li Hong Yuan entered the room and directly walked to the bedside. Because this place was set aside for female guests to reside in, the decorations in the room weren’t that stiff. But it was still lacking in many things. Even if they brought along things from the Luo Manor, there weren’t that much either. Even after ten odd years, Jing Wan still wasn’t used to having it look like she was moving houses every time she went out. She always tries to keep her outings as simple as possible.

Li Hong Yuan took out a night pearl and put it to the side. Then, he used a lampshade to cover it. Immediately, the light darkened quite a bit.

Li Hong Yuan only sat by the bedside, not even reaching out to touch her. Because medicine wasn’t used, he wasn’t sure whether just lightly touching her would wake her or not. She’d slept quite a lot during the day too. He’d originally planned to not appear, just unexpectedly, she fell asleep again. Seems, the previous matter really did consume quite a bit of her energy.

Li Hong Yuan slightly felt somewhat heartache, but if he were to come again, he would still unhesitantly do the same.

Afterwards, all the way until the eve of daybreak, in this period, Li Hong Yuan just quietly sat by Jing Wan’s bedside the entire time, seemingly just looking at her. He was no longer bored, no longer vexed.

“Wangye, it’s almost morning.” If you still don’t leave, you might get discovered at any time.

Not long after Li Hong Yuan left, Jing Wan woke up. Jing Wan moved her nose, “Mama, did someone come by?”

Gong mama slightly shook inside, “No, miss, is there a problem?”

“Nothing, just felt the smell in the room seemed off. Probably it was originally just like this, and I just didn’t notice previously.”

Gong mama also felt somewhat guilty. She rather forgot, miss’s nose was also very sensitive. Wangye stayed here for that long, and because he had injuries on his body, he inevitably carry the scent medicine on him. He hadn’t been gone that long, so that smell hasn’t dispersed. She’d clearly also smelled it, why did she momentarily overlooked it?

After Jing Wan got up, just like at home, did whatever she needed to do. However, she had her morning exercises placed indoors, and in order to not cause too big of a disturbance, began practicing yoga instead. Yoga wasn’t something she necessarily practiced every day and wasn’t part of her morning exercise routine either. However, what she practiced was the most traditional yoga, the difficulty very high, and it was able to greatly improve both the body’s flexibility and sense of balance.

Just one whole set of moves later, Jing Wan was already sweating. After sweating, the body although was uncomfortable on the surface, the entirety of body relaxed, feeling quite good.

After finishing everything she needed to do, and had Luo Old Madam sent off, Jing Wan went to go see Yuan Qiao Qiao and Zhou Ying Shuang again.

Their mothers, one was her paternal aunt, so she naturally wouldn’t not recognize. The two families were close relatives, so even if her paternal aunt blamed her, she still didn’t do anything too excessive. And Qiao Qiao was also rather open-minded, believing that for herself to have been able to survive, it was already pretty good. To her, the fright from falling off the cliff seemed to have affected her more.

Madam Zhou, rather, was her first time meeting. Originally, she should’ve been an extremely bright woman, but this while, her complexion was haggard, with dark circles surrounding her eyes, appearing quite a bit older than her actual age. When Jing Wan greeted her, she only lifted her head and glanced at Jing Wan, not saying anything. In fact, she didn’t even have the intention to let her enter the room to see Zhou Ying Shuang.

“Madam, don’t know if Ying Shuang……”

“Miss Luo, at the moment, we aren’t suited to receive you, it’s best you return.” Her voice was extremely cold and indifferent, even mixed with contrained resentment and anger.

It was her that had invited them out. And now, she was perfectly fine, but Zhou Ying Shuang instead lost her vision. Even if it wasn’t Jing Wan’s fault, under the contrast of the two sides, she would still feel unsettled inside.

Jing Wan naturally wouldn’t hold anything against her, “Madam, I just want to know if Ying Shuang has waken or not?”

Madam Zhou, seeing Jing Wan genuinely concerned for her daughter, also knew she shouldn’t target her like this either, but she just couldn’t control herself. “You best…..”

“Mother, did Jing Wan come?” Zhou Ying Shuang’s voice came from inside.

This time, Jing Wan didn’t bother with etiquette anymore, and quickly went around Madam Zhou, directly heading inside.

Zhou Ying Shuang laid on the bed, slightly huddling her body, clearly a very uneasy posture. She looked in the direction of the door, but her eyes weren’t focused, she really……

Jing Wan covered her mouth, her tears silently fell.

Zhou Ying Shuang wasn’t Sun Yi Jia. Although her family background was far inferior to Sun Yi Jia’s, she was still raised in the palms of their hands. She didn’t have experience with schemes like Sun Yi Jia. Her personality may be optimistic, but her mental tolerance wasn’t very strong. After discovering that she’d lost her sight, having not fallen apart was already very good.

“Jing Wan, is that you?” Zhou Ying Shuang stretched her hand out and very uncertainly opened her mouth. She didn’t know Jing Wan’s situation. It hadn’t been long since she’s woken up. And asking the people at her side, no one told her anything either. She even thought that Jing Wan had already……

Jing Wan hurriedly wiped her tears and calmed her emotions. She quickly went up and grabbed her hand, “Ying Shuang, it’s me.”

“Are you alright?”

“I’m fine, I’m very good.”

“Then that’s good.” Zhou Ying Shuang smiled. “I’m also very good, don’t worry.”

How could Jing Wan not tell she was just purposefully acting strong? Feeling even more heartbroken, she couldn’t help reaching over and hugging her, “Ying Shuang, if you really feel upset, just cry it out. Don’t hold it in your heart. This isn’t good for the body. Your blindness is only temporary, believe me, once the blood scatters, you’ll be able to restore your vision very soon.”

“Really, I can still see again?” Zhou Ying Shuang’s voice was a bit choked up.

“Yes, believe me, you definitely can.”

“I can still see again? I can still……I believe, I believe you…….” She firmly held onto Jing Wan and began sobbing. “Jing Wan, I’m scared, I can’t see anything, I’m really scared, really scared……..”

“Don’t worry, don’t worry, it’s fine. Your loved ones, your friends, we’ll all be by your side and stay with you always, don’t be afraid……”

Jing Wan patiently consoled her for a very long time. Zhou Ying Shuang’s emotions finally calmed down. Soon after, she began asking Yuan Qiao Qiao and Sun Yi Jia’s situation.

Jing Wan rather didn’t hide from her and told her everything. From a certain perspective, ruining one’s appearance was much more severe than blindness.

T/N: I feel like I need to think of more creative ways to curse ML cause so many characters curse at him in the novel and I can’t think of too many not too explicit phrases to use. The language in this novel is very literary, but I don’t know too many elegant ways to curse at someone.
