Chapter 172 - Something like magic sword

Chapter 172: Something like magic sword

Dohyuk let out a breath. The explosion was very powerful. Everything, the light, the sound were gone but it was easy to see how devastating it was. The sound of water splashing could be heard outside of the city wall, just beneath it. The region that was filled with brown rocks was now gone and replaced by sea water washing in from far away.

‘It sure was a crazy idea.’

He knew it was going to work, and he did pull it off successfully, but to ‘test’ it against this much power… If it was just forming a shield, DOhyuk would not have done it even if he knew the shield was going to be durable. Either way, it wasn’t a shield.

When the 2nd chapter of Genesis was written, he had swallowed his city to protect it from catapults. But to the people who did not know what Dohyuk did, it looked like Dohyuk hid the city instead of eating it. That wrong perception had given him an entirely different power.

<<Divine Power: Hand that covers and hides>>

It wasn’t a shield. It just cut off the space from the outside. As the ‘hand’ was in place, nothing could go in or out. Not even the explosion.

<<Deactivating Divine Power>>

Dohyuk felt the cool breeze as he deactivated the power.

‘So, its duration isn’t long.’

It had distinct pros and cons. This power was surely useful for protecting his city. However, since it only worked to cut the space, it didn’t work to expel intruders who came into the city, nor the attacks made from within. Furthermore, it required a lot of faith.

’42 million… no. about 45 million.’

He had it activated for a few seconds, but it wasted a lot of faith. It was much cheaper to put the island on the sea, but it wouldn’t work in a long fight.

‘And it will cut the flow of oxygen too.’

Dohyuk tried using this power for the past few months, to cut the space around him and after breathing all oxygen inside, and he realized its power. And he utilized the power to its best just now. Dohyuk tried to turn to the city.

<<Genesis: The 4th Chapter – Completed>>

“Boss, any problems?”

“No, nothing. Just some words popping up.”

The other Dohyuk who was already inside the city shook his head. He was the one with feather coat, trying to find the relic at Antem’s underground area.

“I see,” Giwon nodded. He would’ve asked what the word was, if it wasn’t for the object placed in front of him. It was the object that Dohyuk showed to Giwon and Blass a few minutes before the explosion occurred.

There were two objects, each with a different size and shape.

“I don’t feel anything,” Blass commented as he checked on one.

“Metal… did the factory have a forgery?”

“I’m not sure. I’m not familiar with that kind of stuff.”

“Well, this kind of metal can be created with the materials you can get from this world. I don’t think the metal itself is any special…” Blass said and turned to Giwon to hand over the object.

“Why don’t you take a look at it?”

Giwon then reached out and placed his hand on the object that was shaped like a meter-long stick.

“…!”

Giwon’s eyes widened in shock.

“It’s… sucking my energy.”

The stick also seemed to change a bit as a cube in the corner began to shine blue. The light condensed, showing how much energy it had taken from Giwon. After the energy-sucking stopped, Giwon spoke up.

“It takes… about 10%.”

10% of Giwon’s meant about most of the fighters’ energies within the city. Giwon then swung his stick, which left the trace of blue particles in the air.

“This… it can be considered a higher rank within the magic sword category. It’s probably at least… A rank.”

“Magic sword?”

“Yes. That’s what these kinds of weapons are usually called.” Giwon explained, “I used some of them a few times, but this one is really clean. It’s not usually this efficient even if it takes energy.”

In most cases, 10% of the energy was turned into about 5~6% on the weapon. It also had many side effects.

“Then why do you even use…”

“There is a reason for it.” Blass answered instead, “It’s very simple. When you fight against someone, does either one use all of their energy?”

No. In most cases, the fight was usually over because of power differences or other issues. That’s why these weapons were rare but popular. It used energy, but would give some extra power instantly.

“And this… I can see its usefulness,” Giwon said as he glanced over at the other object. It shaped like a crossbow. It probably sucked in energy to change it into bullets.

“Boss, so you’re saying that there was a factory for creating these weapons?” Giwon asked in disbelief. Dohyuk did think his discovery was amazing, but Blass and Giwon knew these two weapons and the factory to create it was more than just amazing.

“We can’t be too excited yet,” Dohyuk replied. The factory stopped after making two weapons while the ‘engine’ was still glowing with blue light. It seemed like something other than energy was missing to continue producing it.

“I think the ‘engine’ you speak of is similar to these weapons. I that’s the case, we’ll just need to provide the energy and the metals to create a weapon.”

“As I said, these metals are easy to get. You have the power to control metal on your own, so it will be easy.”

Giwon was still excited and even Blass seemed to be excited also.

“Okay, okay. We’ll land first. Our region doesn’t have a large enough space to let the factory out yet.”

Dohyuk then recombined his body, disappearing from Giwon and Blass. Dohyuk then reappeared on top of a shack that held grains.

“Whew.”

Dohyuk was excited too. They just had successfully defended themselves against a crisis and found a valuable artifact. However, Dohyuk tried to keep calm.

‘I guess… it was for the similar problem that I have.’

Weapons created in the factory didn’t have a large capacity, meaning it was created for weaker people. It wasn’t certain as to how far these people had gotten, but the people in Antem’s world also wanted to build an army to fight Casita.

‘Thank you,’ he thought as he pondered about the factory within him. The island then moved to sail across the shallow sea.

He didn’t realize that he would soon face the person who had been waiting for him at the destination.
