Chapter 175 - About Swordmaster

Chapter 175: About Swordmaster

-Never forget the family spirit.

Feiyen was old school. It was only natural as her great grandparents made a crucial decision for their lives. Their family consisted of loyal communists and they were higher rank officials who had contributed greatly to the creation of modern China. However, they couldn’t agree to the literary revolution that swept the country.

It was because of the ‘book’ within the family. It was more like an educational manual that was handed down from generation to generation, similar to that of Talmud, but only for the family itself.

All scholarly achievements and learning materials were included in it. The book taught one about the family, how to stay loyal to the family, and how to keep one’s mentality healthy and fresh. It also contained methods of how to protect oneself with martial arts too. This book was the root of the family and it held a special meaning.

They decided to keep this book in secret and preserve it so that it would come into fruition in the end. The book was preserved until the time came where keeping such a book was no longer a crime.

And Feiyen was part of the first generation that received education from the book. It wasn’t all that great in her case since she was educated on things that happened a century ago. That was what made her ‘weird’. While the new generation of Chinese kids was enjoying globalization and diving into their smartphones, Feiyen was diving into her family’s book and other studies of old China.

The job of a librarian was a fitting job for her. After 25 years, she had grown up to be a beautiful woman and she also had a beautiful mind, but she was an outcast who couldn’t hang out with her peers as she only seeked to learn about the past.

And no one, including her great grandparents who taught her, or Feiyen herself, expected her very character to put her on top of the upcoming world.

Great Blue Sword Mastery.

That was what it was called. It seemed to hold some secrets, but it was actually a type of body training method using a stick. At least that’s what her great grandparents thought of it. A century ago, people lost the imagination about what a person could physically achieve for close combat. Feiyen’s great grandfather had trained himself in Great Blue Sword Mastery for over half a century, but it didn’t give him exceptional power or anything. He was just a bit healthier than average, which he could’ve achieved through other workout methods.

However, on the first day of the changed world, Feiyen realized that the Great Blue Sword Mastery didn’t just consist of some simple training. To her surprise, her sword skill easily overpowered her enemies. Was there a special power behind the skill that helped her in such dire times? No. It was her body that had changed. The reason was unknown, but the skill was actually made for people with superhuman capabilities. Since people were too weak to utilize the skill to its full potential, the fact that the skill was something more than just a way to train themselves never came to mind.

And with that, Feiyen became a fighter. She knew the basics, and her ‘true’ talent also was in strength.

She didn’t even need other weapons. There was a sword that was kept as a family relic. This too didn’t have any special power, but it was made perfectly for the skill she knew.

And with that, Feiyen moved onto the changed world.

She didn’t realize this herself…

“This is not right! How can a person do such a thing!”

This was what she had been saying all the time as she faced all the horrible things in the world. The world was going crazy. She first thought it was monsters appearing everywhere that was the problem. But it wasn’t. She quickly realized the people too were crazy. Phenomenal Nine? She couldn’t just scoff it off while the world descending into such chaos, but she couldn’t just outright believe it either. Before she even swung her sword…

“Swordmaster…?”

She realized that was her name. She was told that this world had traveled back in time and everyone remembered everything up until they died in the previous life. They said Feiyen was one of 9 strongest beings in the entire world in that future, a hero who had fought against the god who brought this mess upon the world and succeeded.

She eventually accepted the fact, but it didn’t change anything. After she accepted it, it became more confusing as to why people were doing what they were doing.

“If that’s so, then why are you all acting so recklessly?! If we succeed once again, can’t we solve it peacefully without killing each other?!”

She was always vocal about her ‘justice’ toward the beasts. But… the result was obvious. They scoffed, insulted her, or tried to lie and attack her from the back. Every beast attacked her.

“This b*tch… she still talks nonsense.”

None of them succeeded in killing her and she got stronger each time. Feiyen then realized that these ‘mad’ people had no hope. Instead of trying to bring them back, she turned to help the weak. There were still people who were not mad in this world. But they were being oppressed and abandoned.

She saved these people, but…

“This is mine!”

“You want all of it for yourself?! You selfish bastard!”

It wasn’t the end. They were saved, but their lives had been destroyed already. All the problems made them fight each other. And this…

“Fighting won’t solve anything. We should help each other.”

She couldn’t solve this by herself. She didn’t consider herself as a ruler and she had no right nor need to do so either. All in all, she was only a librarian with outdated ideology. She didn’t have what it takes to control people’s desires and emotions.

Of course… People did follow her physically. They were saved by her and they did thank her for that. But they also feared such a strong person. Their complains grew and became unruly. They began fighting each other and soon killed one another.

It was at the limit. A lot of them willingly moved out or went to regions controlled by beasts. They were human, so they needed voices to speak for them. Feiyen did not understand this.

“…”

And thus she became lonely. It was the beginning of a weird hero. She traveled around, fighting her way against unjust she observed. She saved people, but she couldn’t stay with them. She barely just guided them to a group of other uncorrupted people in safety. She would’ve been more sad if she knew how her life was previously as it wasn’t much different. It was why she had been attracted to Dohyuk before. He was much weaker than her, but he was achieving something she still couldn’t do.

She didn’t know that of course.

“Y…you were a slut for that bastard. Don’t act like you’re noble.”

“What?”

And that was why she was shocked.

“Heh… heh… everyone knows about you.”

Many of the powerful beasts she faced jabbered as if they knew a lot about her. There was one common thing they said about her.

“I know what you did to win his attention…”

“…”

“I should’ve… killed you back then…”

Most of them were exaggerating, but they all shared one point.

Great Emperor Yoo Dohyuk.

She was madly in love with him.
