Chapter 540 540. CONFRONTATION

The experts continued to speak about themselves, Noah allowed them to give short stories of how they had arrived at the presence of the fifth-tier expert, grand elder Ezra.

Most of them had been in the third tier around that three decades back, so Noah could term them his mates. They were only weaker.

The more those experts spoke, the easier it was for them to associate in his presence. Jokes were often cracked and the sounds of laughter erupted from time to time.

Eventually, they were done giving their backstories and soon all eyes fell on his figure. Noah immediately knew what they desired. Everyone wanted to know the origins of that extraordinary being.

"I shall hold back on my story. It will be revealed in the times to come," he stated, and those experts furrowed their brows, the smiles on their faces gradually fading. His words had brought back the feeling of distance between him and them. They couldn't force him to speak but he could ask them to.

Noah saw this and reconsidered. He stood thereafter, and their gazes followed his movement.

"I once had a brother. Our relationship had not been exactly great due to certain circumstances. We never knew our mother and were not of noble blood. But we were doing just okay."

"You see, the more we grew; the farther apart I found my brother drifting from my presence and love. Then a time that defined my life arrived with a blow. My brother tried to take my life out of envy and anger."

"He succeeded but failed. But that's a story for another time. What matters Is that I'm standing here. I've not seen him since that day," Noah spread his arms before sitting again.

His narration had pulled the attention of those experts like a black hole. His completely normal but tragic background struck those experts with such an impact they never pre-thought would hit them.

Silence reigned after that explanation. They had gotten what they wanted, but it left them wanting more and seeing him in a new light.

A person from that normal background had managed to grow that much. So much so that he could best multiple experts at his level without struggle. An individual that would be considered a monster even amongst monsters.

Even they had heard the tales of the achievement of elder Sarah, but seeing her get demolished by one attack left too much of an impact in their minds. Noah could very well kill them at their peak. Not one person had the confidence that he or she could take him on even at their full power.

"Now that that's done, I believe we can get some rest. Unfortunately, the beds are made out of ice, it would be great if you have mats of your own," Noah reflected allowing those experts to stand.

They each bowed for the meal, as they had finished it. They each walked into any room they desired.

The sun went down completely and the moon revealed its silver radiance, bathing the world below in its magical light.

Noah went out and sat at the top of the frozen building constantly oozing loads of cool mist. The hill had been thoroughly frozen.

Gazing at the forest below, Noah sky-gazed in silence, for no particular reason. His ears caught distant roars of weaker-leveled beasts which further amplified the strange serenity of that view.

Even amid the war, he could find time to just chill. Only due to his power could he do this. He had gotten strong enough to afford personal peace.

Notwithstanding.

"I wondered when one of you would show up. It's been almost two weeks," he remained in his laying position whilst the fabric of space around him compressed and stretched. A figure appeared right beside him at that point. They stood beside his head gazing at the same environment he gazed at.

Noah continued to lie on his palms placed behind his head. He only opened his mouth to speak to the individual.

"Honestly I would rather we did not do this now. I like the view of this region, it would be destroyed if we battle," his tone revealed just how less worried he was, even if his opponent to be was already past the mid-point of the higher stage. 𝘧𝗿ee𝚠𝙚𝙗𝑛o𝚟𝐞l.𝐜૦𝗺

The person remained silent whilst they stood, unmoving. Their blue garment flowed graciously in the cool winds of the world around them. Their black hair remained in position, however.

"I thought you all were chatty," Noah muttered straightening his back. He possessed not the will to fight but would do it anyway.

"I have to admit," a feminine voice reached his ears. "You're more reasonable than I imagined. Maybe too reasonable. And your calmness. It's... unsettling."

"I get that from the expressions of those I interact with," Noah replied, never taking his eyes off the vast world below him. The subtle shimmering of small bodies of water reflecting the moon's light reached his gaze, further amplifying the scenery.

"I was informed you had asked for higher staged experts. What makes you so sure you can take one down? We are on the path to the fifth tier."

"Erm... Taking you down isn't that hard. Even fifth-tier experts would only be considered a bit of trouble to me," Noah responded quite nonchalantly.

"Such arrogant words from the lips of a mere middle-staged expert. You're far stronger than you should be, but even you have limits," the lady shook her head for the first time even if her manner of speech remained calm.

"I know I have limits. But what if I can bypass them," Noah dislodged his gaze from the world below him to allow his silver eyes to land on the lady. That simple action caused the air to fall tense.

"And how would you do that? Breaking the limits of the fourth tier that is," she asked, greatly amused by his words.

"No more questions. Are you going to fight me or not?" Noah stood.

"I was sent to do just that was I not?" She replied and watched Noah shake his head whilst sparks flickered out of his figure.

"Nevertheless since you've intrigued me this much; I'll hold off our confrontation for a few days. Three days to be exact."

"I can see you're on a journey with other experts. I shall follow you on this journey, only I will not be interfering."

"That's creepy. Why are you even telling me all that? Or are you scared of dying today?" Noah arced an eyebrow even if the required emotions to feel pleasure from that event were nonexistent.

"Your words would have been far more touchy were you not devoid of emotions. Death lord. Good try though." The space around Noah's figure saw orange magical circles appearing beneath and above the lady's figure. After which she disappeared the moment they closed on each other.

A flash of orange light followed that event, but Noah remained unfazed, simply shaking his head and confirming that the lady was out of his perceptive range. 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝒆𝘸𝚎𝙗𝒏oν𝙚𝘭.𝐜𝒐m

He sat down and lay on his palms to continue that relaxing activity as though a life-threatening individual had not just appeared to him.
