Chapter 67 - We Have Each Other
67 We Have Each Other
Lu Zhao nodded.
Luo Ying struggled out of his arms. “Please, let’s leave this place. I’ll take you to the bedroom to get your hand looked at. Those are deep cuts, they may get infected.”
Lu Zhao nodded.
He was like an obedient little wolf in front of his master. He allowed Luo Ying to lead him into the bedroom.
Luo Ying took out the first aid kit from the cabinet and pulled Lu Zhao’s hand to hers.
Lu Zhao looked at Luo Ying, his eyes burning.
Luo Ying pulled Lu Zhao’s hand over and pressed the alcohol-soaked cotton on his hand a few times.
Lu Zhao endured the pain and frowned.
“Tell me the truth. Did you use your hand to grab the glass?” Luo Ying looked at the wound on Lu Zhao’s hand. It did not look like a simple accident. This could only have been the result if he had grabbed the shards with force.
Lu Zhao lowered his head and didn’t look into Luo Ying’s eyes.
In the original novel, this was precisely how Lu Zhao acted. When he was in a bad mood, he would torture himself with the pain.
“Don’t ever hurt yourself like this. If you do this again, I’ll leave you,” Luo Ying said, looking at Lu Zhao.
Lu Zhao shook his head and looked up into Luo Ying’s eyes. “Don’t leave me. I won’t hurt myself anymore. I promise.”
Luo Ying looked into Lu Zhao’s eyes and nodded. “I won’t leave you.”
Luo Ying lowered her head and helped Lu Zhao treat his wounds and wrap them in gauze.
After putting Lu Zhao to bed, she went out and asked Zhang to prepare some food for Lu Zhao to eat when he woke up.
Lu Zhao quickly fell asleep. It was probably because his insecurities had been put to rest.
Luo Ying went downstairs. Zhang looked at Luo Ying and sighed. “Sir used to be like this for a few days. Now that you’re here, he should be much happier. You should come back more often to accompany him.”
From what Zhang said, the original Luo Ying seemed to often stay out and left Lu Zhao alone at home.
“Did he break down many times like this?”
“Yes, Madam. Actually, Sir has always wanted to have a family. I watched him grow from childhood. He has never regarded anyone else as preciously as you. I hope that you can do the same for him.”
Zhang’s words had come from the heart. Luo Ying nodded, trying to keep the tears out of her eyes.
She would never leave him.
Just as Zhang and Luo Ying were chatting, a phone call came in.
Luo Ying frowned.
It was Lin Lu.
Lin Lu was Lin Su and Lin Ping’s elder sister. Lin Su’s mother had died very early, so Lin Lu was like a mother to the two of them.
Lin Lu liked the original Luo Ying very much and hoped that Luo Ying would marry her younger brother. Therefore, she often contacted Luo Ying and helped her make new plans to win over her younger brother.
“Hello, Sister Lin Lu. What’s the matter?” Luo Ying said.
“Luo Ying, Lin Su is injured. Why don’t you come and see him?” Lin Lu asked.
“Sister Lin Lu, I’m already married. I might not have so many opportunities to visit Lin Su in the future.”
“Yes, but didn’t you say you hated Lu Zhao and even wanted to divorce him?” Lin Lu sounded a little anxious.
She couldn’t believe that Luo Ying, who used to like her brother so much, had suddenly changed into a different person and would utter something about being loyal to her marriage.
“I’m really sorry, Sister Lin Lu. I’ve thought about it for a long time and decided to forget about Lin Su and me. After all, I’m a married woman. Moreover, Lu Zhao accidentally cut his hand today, so I have to take care of him,” Luo Ying said.
When she heard Luo Ying’s insistence, Lin Lu didn’t say anything more. She just sighed. “Alright, but you have to take care of yourself. Caring for someone else is tough. Don’t tire yourself out.”
Lin Lu hung up the phone and looked at Lin Su, who was lying on the bed and drinking medicine.
Lin Su frowned. “What’s wrong? Is she going to come and take care of me again? I knew it. How could this woman give up so easily…?”
“No, Luo Ying said Lu Zhao’s hand was cut, and she had to take care of Lu Zhao.”
The ward was silent for a moment. Lin Su and Lin Ping did not speak.
Lin Ping’s mouth was hanging wide open, as if Lin Lu had said something funny. “Sis, you’re not lying to me, are you? Would Luo Ying say such a thing?”
