Chapter 1094: Dragon auction (4)

It didn't seem like anyone was happy with the results of the auction as Lin Fan could tell that there were people waiting outside for him.

It was one person at first, but it didn't take long for more people to gather.

These were the results of his own actions, but Lin Fan didn't actually feel any fear at all.

In fact, he was quite confident even though his VIP room was being watched like this.

After all, Lin Fan was certain that he would be able to escape if they were to try anything with him.

Lin Fan had long planned out his method of escape since he knew that it would only be a matter of time before he annoyed all three of the factions.

With each passing item, it was clear that they were getting more and more fed up with him.

That was because Lin Fan didn't hold back at all to drive up the price.

After a certain point, it became very clear to the people from the three factions that this was what he was doing and they knew that he was doing it on purpose.

But they had no choice but to accept it and move on since it didn't seem like the auction side was planning to do something.

As such, their desire to do something bad to Lin Fan after this auction continued.

All the way until the final item, Lin Fan kept pushing up the price of the items that they wanted.

No matter what they did, he would always push the price of the item up without a single care. It was as if the only thing that he cared about was making them spend as much money as possible.

That was why it really felt like Lin Fan was someone that had been placed there by the auction.

It was only someone that was placed there by the auction that would be this bold and would have this kind of influence.

But once again they threw this idea away.

Nothing in the Kalos Empire would be crazy enough to go against three of the six factions in power like this.

The only thing that could do this was someone from another empire.

Once they came to this conclusion, they were even more determined to take care of Lin Fan.

After all, if he was someone from another empire, then that would mean that they would be rewarded if they were to take him down. If he was from another empire, then they could just call him a spy and earn even more credit for taking him down.

That was why they gathered more and more people in preparation of taking Lin Fan down.

Though the one thing that they noticed was that Lin Fan never actually won an item.

It seemed that he really just wanted to make them bleed…

Finally, it was time for the final item.

It was the core of the dragon.

This was the item that all of them wanted since it contained the essence of the dragon.

This was something that all of them wanted and something that they wouldn't back down on.

So even without Lin Fan prompting them, there was this bid war that happened between the three representatives from the three factions. It seemed that none of them were willing to let this core go.

But during the bidding war, they couldn't help realize something.

"Why isn't he bidding at all?"

If it was before, Lin Fan would have cut in from time to time to give his bid. Even if they were all bidding, there was no doubt that he would have made a bid just to pressure them.

So for him to suddenly fall silent like this…

"He ran away! Find him now!"

That was the first conclusion that they came to.

Since this was an order from the three of them, the people that they sent actually worked together.

The VIP rooms were provided by the auction house, which meant that those that entered them would be protected by the auction house to a certain extent.

That was why they had to work together.

Some of them distracted those from the auction house while the others barged into the VIP room to find the one that they were looking for.

The problem was that when they entered the VIP room, they found that it was completely empty. No matter how they looked around, it wasn't as if they could find a single clue that there had been a person here.

It was as if that person had vanished into thin air…or that person had never existed before.

It was impossible that this person snuck past them since they had been watching the only exit to this room the entire time. And there was no other way for them to go since the only other way led out to the auction hall itself.

"Search the room." One of them suddenly said after a long moment of silence.

Even if they couldn't find a single thing, they had to at least try to find a clue where that person had gone. It was possible that there was a hidden exit inside of this VIP room that he used to escape.

So they had to at least try and find something.

But in the end, there wasn't a single trace of a hidden exit.

"Where did he go?" These people tried questioning the staff from the auction. ƒreewebɳovel.com

At this point, they were desperate to find any traces of Lin Fan, so they didn't care what method they used.

It was just too bad that the staff didn't know a single thing.

They were just as shocked as these people that Lin Fan had suddenly disappeared without a trace like this. As far as they knew, Lin Fan should have still been in this room.

They hadn't seen him leaving either, so they had no idea where he was.

Seeing that the staff didn't say anything, these people thought that the staff were actually protecting Lin Fan. As such, they started to threaten them for the information on Lin Fan.

It was just that the staff didn't have any information.

That was because Lin Fan hadn't actually left yet.

The moment that they rushed in, Lin Fan casually released his illusion spell and hid himself.

His illusion spell was already at a very high level, so it wasn't as if these people could discover where he was. He was just standing there among them and they didn't even know that he was there.

Still, Lin Fan felt that he should do something.

It was Amy who found this auction hall and the one that commissioned them to sell this dragon corpse. So in a sense, it was Lin Fan who brought this trouble on them.

Since he had brought this trouble, he should at least do a bit to help them.

That was why he raised his finger and sent out something past this group.

When it landed, there was a sound and a burst of mana that came from that direction.

This group was a group that had been sent to track him for a reason, so they were sensitive to stuff like this. The moment that they felt the mana fluctuation, they didn't hesitate to go in that direction.

They didn't even say a word as they left the staff alone and headed off to chase after this non-existent trail.

In the end, they weren't able to find a single thing.

And by the time that they came back, Lin Fan was already long gone.

"Was it a ghost after all?" These people couldn't help muttering to themselves, but what weighed on their minds the most was the fact that they would be in trouble for losing Lin Fan.

They had been sent to chase after him, but they had lost all traces of him.

It wouldn't be strange if they were punished because of this.

By the time that the auction was over, there was a bitter taste that was left in everyone's mouths.

Even though they had gotten the items that they wanted, they had overpaid for them. They had wanted to use their pressure to force people to give these items to them at a low price, but Lin Fan had ruined that.

After all, that was the reason that they had hidden themselves like that in the first place.

It was all a plan to lower the price of the dragon items.

Now that they had overpaid for these items, there was no doubt that they would be criticized for this as well.

It seemed that this wouldn't be good for them.

But it was good for Lin Fan since the amount of money that he made was much greater than expected. Because he personally pushed them like that, it actually made them pay much more and he earned a large sum.

However, that wasn't the only thing that this auction was for.

"You really caused quite a mess." Amy said when she saw Lin Fan.

Lin Fan just smiled without saying anything and Amy also didn't blame him any further than this.

That was because this was actually beneficial to them.

By causing this large mess, there was no doubt that these nobles would be searching for the person that messed with them.

That meant that there was a gap for them to exploit.

That meant that there was time for Lin Fan to do what he came here to do in the first place.

"Go and take care of it then." Amy said as if she was sending Lin Fan off.
