Chapter 263 Moving Forward(1)
"So? What did you get?" Jake looked at the man who was all smiled in front of him.
"A lot." Myriad Arrows answered cryptically, looking forward at Kierch, who seemed uninterested in this conversation.
"Enough to hide it from your guild master, I see. You have to tell me what you found there now." Jake rubbed his hands.
"Nothing much. You worry about it too much. Well, now that I picked the place clean, and because all of the corpses disappeared, it looks like it is just an empty cave. Quite interesting." Myriad Arrows commented.
"Well, better stay quiet about it. Since you don't want to talk about this now, we will talk about this later. But now, a lot of time has passed, and many of the players who died have revived. This is the time to move now." Jake said.
"Well, have you talked to the other guild masters about this, or are you going to move on your own right now? You are a really bad team player." Myriad Arrows said, shaking his head.
"Shut it. I am a wonderful team player. With me on their team, anyone would be gracious." Jake shook his head, shutting down Myriad Arrows in an instant.
"And yes. I told them. They are also ready, and I was just waiting for you. As usual, I am the one who is stalling. I became quite the bad guy in these circles." Jake said, shaking his head.
"Well , you were the one who mo-"
Myriad Arrows was about to something, but looking at Jake's glaring eyes, and the watchful ones of everyone around them who started taking count of this conversation, he shut his mouth immediately.
"Know when to talk about a few things. Some things are best talked about in private." Jake said, shaking his head.
"How do you even know what I was about to say?" Myriad Arrows asked.
"I know. Trust me, I know." Jake said, chuckling.
"Well then, I will give the signal to the other guild masters. Since you were the one who got us late, you are the one who will take the responsibility of getting everyone into formation." Jake said, smiling.
"Just be honest. You waited until I came before delegating this task to me, didn't you? I don't know why you became a guild master when you hate all the responsibility that comes with it." Myriad Arrows shook his head.
"I became the guild master for everything else. As for responsibility, I can always delegate it, can't I? That is the whole goal of this." Jake said.
"Now then, get that ready. I need to talk to Kierch about something." Jake said as he walked up to Kierch.
Kierch was in a world of his own. He was sitting on an elevated rock, looking at the horizon, completely silent.
He noticed that Jake was walking up to him, but he didn't even turn his head.
"Are we going to move soon enough?" He asked.
"Yup, Myriad Arrows is back." Jake nodded.
"The loot that he got. I hope I will get a fair share." Kierch asked.
"You got an epic item out of this, didn't you?" Jake chuckled.
"Yes, but who will say no to a lot of gold?" Kierch asked. ραпdαs `n?ν?| сom
"You will get your fair share. After the guild's share is cut out. The house takes a cut." Jake said, smiling.
"Of course. How much was the cut again? Fifty percent?" Kierch snorted.
"Don't be ridiculous. How can you compare me to the vile beasts outside who take fifty percent? I take a modest ten percent." Jake said, smiling.
"Ah! Like that makes you the saint." Kierch shook his head.
"I do pay you a hefty salary, you know? And I also make sure you get the best items, the best resources, and I also send you the best training grounds." Jake said.
"Fine. What do you want? A partner to chit chat with?" Kerch scoffed.
"Why are you in such a bad mood. The fact that you lost one battle?" Jake chuckled as he asked.
"You were pretty lucky. You got to the battle faster than I did, and were able to have some fun. But all I got was that damned shockwave in my mouth. That wiped out half of my health." Kerch said.
"Well, now you have a reason to get you motivated. Don't you want to go and defeat that monster? The giant? Don't you want to get your revenge?" Jake asked.
Kierch didn't respond to that, and kept looking in the horizon.
"My my. My third best is so sulken. What is to become of my guild now? One of them feels like he is always high, and the other is now fallen to depression. Bright Horizon is doomed, isn't it?" Jake said, shaking his head.
"Nevertheless, onto important matters. The next fight, I want you to take a back seat for the first round. But when I tell you to go, you will be the main attraction, so don't worry about that." Jake said.
"What do you mean, the first round? How do you know what we are doing next?" Kierch raised his eyebrows.
"I have a few recounts, if you have forgotten. We are not the first ones to actually start this expedition." Jake said.
"Yes, but its not like a single thing here is going according to plan. Every single one of these monsters we are facing, they are completely different from these sources of yours." Kierch said.
"Well this one, this one I am sure of. We will face a singular opponent." Jake said.
"And only one person can step up to go against that person?" Kierch asked.
"Yup. I don't want you to be that person. I need you to be my trump card for something else." Jake said.
"For what?"
"For what will come after Myriad does what he does best."
