Chapter 241: Caught between a cat-fight

Chapter 241: Caught between a cat-fight

After his adviser had left the room and the sound of the closing door made its way in, Qin Niqnzu paused and looked back with a sneer. "To think I had trusted you for so long. Tsk. People get blinded by greed soon."

He had his suspicions first. But today, he was confirmed. His adviser was already been won over by that woman.

"Wu Minmei is getting restless again." Who could it be other than his wife?

Whenever it involved the Tang family, she would always get restless.

He had a long list of enemies both from his own family to outside. Qin Nianzu walked to his desk and retrieved a file. From within, a dozen of pictures turned out.

He had acquired hose pictures from his own private investigation, he didn't involve his so-called trusted aide, his advisor in it. Normally, his advisor would control all of his matters. But this time, the situation was special and demanded absolute confidentiality to avoid intrusion from his wife's side.

They contained a young pair. From six years ago, it was the eldest son of Li Mengyao and another girl with those green eyes. Yes, it was the President of Tang Enterprise, the granddaughter of that old man, Jing Lihua from back the days of her youth.

Six years ago, how could she have arrived in Hong Kong? How could she have formed a connection with Li Zhiqiang?

On that day Qin Nianzu had talked with Tang Liuwei, that old man sounded genuinely confused. It was as if he had no connection to his granddaughter's appearance in Hong Kong. Qin Nianzu thought so at first. But now, he was having a second opinion.

Regardless, Qin Nianzu felt like he was getting closer to the truth.

Sooner and later, he would find out what connection that old man's daughter shared with Li Mengyao's eldest son.

And after that...

"Now tell me, why have you been avoiding me for so long?" asked Zhao Liying grudgingly. After dragging Jing Lihua right out of the venue at the end of the event, Zhao Liying kidnapped Mo Liang with Jing Lihua, an unwilling accomplice, and took them straight to a restaurant.

Jing Lihua sighed. "I was not avoiding you. You do know how busy I am."

"And suddenly I miss the old, stupidly reckless yet pleasantly twenty-four to seven available Xiao Hua."

Mo Liang had been dozing off at the table. After listening to Zhao Liying, he lazily opened one eye. "Although I strongly object being abducted like this, Zhao Liying has a point. Jing Lihua, you need to chill a little."

"Exactly!" said Zhao Liying excited. Then, she grinned. "Especially now that you have found such a thick thigh. You should not be exerting yourself like this. Just spend your time dolling up and sed

ucing him and you are set for life." Zhao Liying placed her elbows at the table and playfully winked at Jing Lihua. "You know, I could teach you some tricks in 'that' regard."

Jing Lihua raised her eyebrow at Zhao Liying. "I highly doubt your advice would be sufficient to keep a hold on a man."

Zhao Liying gasped, being dramatic.

Mo Liang chimed in. "True though, how long has your longest relationship lasted? Two months? Jing Lihua, if you ever feel the need for advice in the matters of heart, you can openly consult this master here. Although I am never this benevolent with others since you are my friend, I am willing to share my precious life experience." Mo Liang puffed out his chest in pride.

Jing Lihua not to say anything to that and provide him with more excuses to bicker. Thus, she looked at Zhao Liying. "So, the reason you have dragged us here, when would he be arriving?"

At this, Zhao Liying smiled sheepishly while Mo Liang looked around, confused. "I thought you had brought us here for dinner. Did you want to introduce someone?"

"He might be a little late... Hey! Why don't we try out our appetizers!" Zhao Liying said excitedly in an attempt to change the subject.

Mo Liang was about to speak but Jing Lihua beat him to that.

"Oh, he is late, now? Having his girlfriend wait tells a lot about his personality." Her sharp remark came as a shocker to both Mo Liang and Zhao Liying.

"Girlfriend?" Mo Liang looked confused, Zhao Liying had never gone as far as to introduce any of her boyfriends before this, it meant she was serious about this one. "Who are we talking about again?"

And why did Jing Lihua sounded bitter?

Before he could make out the situation, Zhao Liying retort came.

"Someone who is on the level of international fame, to be a little late is fairly excusable." Zhao Liying's words were fairly normal, it was her tone that had Mo Liang cringe. He craned his neck to look at Zhao Liying who was no longer smiling.

Uh, what was happening?

Weren't they having a friendly, cheerful banter a few moments ago?

How did things turn serious so fast?

"Guys-I mean Girls?" He interjected or tried to interject.

However, his words were totally ignored as if he was not even present.

The duo of women continued to glare at each other; Jing Lihua's gaze was cold and inexpressive while Zhao Liying glare was fairly heated and expressive.

"Following your logic, those Billionaire tycoons who beat and abuse their wives have their behavior perfectly excusable. Because they have the wealth and means to do so." Came Jing Lihua remark swiftly.

"Now you are exaggerating. Being

a little late and abusing someone is an entire realm apart."

"The path to a toxic relationship starts exactly so."

"What would you know about toxic relationships?"

Could someone at least explain to him what had happened?!

Mo Liang could not help himself anymore. "Ladies, we could discuss it without—" He choked on his words when a duo of cold and hot glares pierced through him instead of locking with each other.

He was just trying to help, okay? What did he do wrong?

For some reason, he had a feeling as if tonight was going to be a lot longer than he had expected.
