Chapter 36: Making A Deal - The Strange Women!

Chapter 36: Making A Deal - The Strange Women!

"Ah! What is this!" She exclaimed, dropping the things in her hands. The two were shocked, noticed the male lying on the wooden bed, while Leonhardt was rubbing his head and smiled back at them.

"What are you two doing here?" Erina exclaimed in surprise.

"Oh. Nothing, I was just having a nap," Leonhardt responded.

"You seem to have been taking more than just a napping," Sylvie added, then they noticed the items that Asuka dropped, as she struggled to pick them up quietly.

The dragonoid's cheeks became bright red as she picked up her bathing bucket and towel from the ground, as she avoided making eye contact with him or the girls.

"She was just about to have a bath after training." Leonhardt clarified, but they were all sceptical. Erina was the first to respond.

"And we're going to pretend that she's the only one taking the bath," Erina said, flipping her golden twin tails over with her hand, pointing at Leonhardt who lay on her bed, and the two noticed the Dragonoid's flushed appearance.

"Wait. I am the only one who is having a bath." Asuka tried to explain, avoiding looking at them. Erina and Sylvie glanced at her sceptically for a moment.

"Alright, well, I guess you are," Sylvie replied. "I suppose there isn't enough evidence to the contrary," she concluded.

The blue-haired elf looked away, her eyes turning back to Leonhardt, remembering what she saw last time when he drank too much and ended up sharing a bed with Erina.

"Just, don't take all day to do it," she added.

"I'll be fine," Asuka replied.

"Besides, we brought you some food in case you hadn't eaten anything all day!"

The group started to come together, while Leonhardt rested on the bed, pretending to be oblivious to Erina's sharp gaze.

Her eyes narrowed into slits and her hands clenched into tiny balls of fury.

Sylvie, who sat across from Asuka, looked back and forth between them and the dragonoid's unusual shyness.

"Well, it's not like we slept together." Leonhardt flicked his hand, waving to Asuka so she could leave, but then she froze when Erina interrupted her with an icy tone that could freeze over the entire ocean.

"Slept together?" Erina turned her head back to face Leonhardt, who was lying on her bed. "What does that comment mean?" She struggled with the memories of that night because as a Saintess candidate, excessive contact with males is prohibited.

'Hm? Why is she so angry?'

[Put your hand on your heart and think!]

Even Ifrit scolded him, but Leonhardt didn't mind.

He watched Asuka sneak out of the room into the side room where the bathtub was. He saw a glimpse of smooth tan skin and her long red tail before the door was shut.

"What I meant was... We met outside. That's all that happened." Leonhardt scratched the side of his cheek.

The two girls inched closer, glaring at the man lying on the wooden frame bed.

"Right? Asukaaa." He called for Asuka's help, but instead of Asuka's soft voice coming to his defence. A loud splash echoed back from behind the door.

'She abandoned me,' he realised. Now he had nowhere to escape, as Erina stood before him.

"And... What were you guys doing so early out in town?'

"I was having some fun with monsters and some guard gave me attitude. Then Asuka, who was waiting at the gate, helped me inside, so I pretended to be her lover to make him cry." The words slipped out of his mouth easily because the dragon girl didn't know how to hide anything.

"Hmm. Sounds reasonable." Erina crossed her arms and nodded her head.

'What?'

"Asuka gets harassed all the time because of how she dresses, I guess this will be better." She nodded to herself before glancing at him with a smile.

'Well, it seems like it was good to tell the truth.'

Leonhardt's mind wandered off as Sylvie sat at the desk, putting some strange items down, while Erina on the bed, looking through the drawers beneath her bed.

"So, why are you here?" Erina asked.

"Because I wanted to recruit you, right?"

"Ah, the mercenary thing?"

"Right."

"Hmm... move up, I want to lie down."

Erina dropped onto the bed dramatically. Leonhardt scooted up as far as he could while avoiding the wall. The bed wasn't large and so her hips fell onto his lower abdomen. Her silver-white summer dress slipped up to reveal her soft thighs.

"It feels nice to have someone's body warmth." Erina's legs rubbed against Leonhardt's abdomen. Almost as if she weren't concerned about being a saintess, however, she pressed her finger into his cheek, and her voice came out cold.

"Remember nothing!"

"Okay, I won't look then."

Leonhardt closed his eyes. However, the Saintess candidates' words and action conflicted with each other, as her body wriggled and squirmed in her place, pressing her body into Leonhardt's.

"Hmm... The Mercenary Guild sounds interesting." Sylvie nodded as she sat up from her position, glancing up at Leonhardt and Erina laying on the bed. "Are you sleeping together again?"

"No, she's laying on me."

"I see."

"What do you mean again?!" Erina exclaimed.

Sylvie raised an eyebrow, but before she could speak, Erina jumped out of bed and rushed to Sylvie and pressed both hands against her soft lips, the warm gasps of the witch pointless against the Erina's grip.

"Mmph?!" Sylvie's cheeks flushed, and her voice muffled while staring into Leonhardt's red eyes.

'These girls are quite interesting.'

He couldn't help but rub his chin, watching as the two girls wrestled

"Aren't you supposed to be a pure Saintess?" he murmured, glancing between the elf and human wrestling around on the floor.

Erina's face turned a deeper shade of crimson as she struggled to maintain her grasp over the elf's small pink lips, but the icy witch suddenly bit the saintess, who cried out.

"Ahh!" Erina yanked her hand away from Sylvie. It had bright red marks that made Erina scowl. Sylvie turned back towards Leonhardt and stood up. Her expression barely changed, but an icy chill filled the air as she dusted off her robes and grabbed the things on the table.

"Well, I have to go study these tomes..." Sylvie spoke with a lack of passion, but Leonhardt's brows lifted, as her lips curled showing a subtle smile, before she left the room.

"Now, let's get back on topic," Erina spoke, climbing onto the bed with her legs crossed, still wearing her revealing silver and white dress. Leonhardt watched as the dress slipped up just high enough to show her panties.

"My eyes are up here, big guy."

Leonhardt looked back up at the mischievous smile on Erina's lips. "But I want to see down there."

"Ack! I am a saintess, stop being so vulgar!" Erina laughed and pushed Leonhardt backwards until he was lying on the bed. He realised that there was little space on the bed, causing the two of them to lie pressed against each other.

A soft voice flowed into his ears, matching the gentle breeze from the small window. "Do you really want to hire us, for an actual task?"

He looked down into her curious green eyes as their heads lay next to each other.

"That's why I came, also to ask you to lend me a hand."

Erina giggled like a cat, sticking out her tongue before giving a devilish wink. "Then you better pay the price." She didn't continue and closed her eyes. "I am not much help, only able to heal and cure diseases." Erina reached forward and created a small sphere of light in the air.

"That's enough for me. I will fight, and protect you."

"Hm..."

"What?"

"Even though we're this close, you didn't touch me, or do anything. It surprised me." She smiled and flipped herself over and kicked him onto his side so she could lie comfortably.

"You are a saintess after all."

"But your thoughts say otherwise. Maybe they are lies," she added.

"When have my actions ever contradicted my words." Leonhardt snorted, accidentally leaning closer, the scent of Erina's body becoming clearer.

"The first night you came."

Leonhardt looked confused, unable to remember that night, and shook his head.

"Why did you ask?"

"What do you mean?"

He couldn't grasp her questions or thoughts, but there wasn't any malice or aggression. Erina gazed at him with a pure expression, and her tone sounded curious.

"About recruiting us for real and not seeking other teams, wouldn't it be better to work with stronger mercenaries?"

"I like pretty women, and you all seem trustworthy." He shrugged.

Erina nodded and lay silent before she rolled off the bed to stand up and stretch.

"Well, whatever," Erina stretched her arms and then pulled down her summer dress to fix it. "Since you passed the test, I'll give you a chance, Leon." She curled her lips, showing a sly smirk, before walking towards the other room.

"Will you join us for lunch?"
