Chapter 190: Flaming Vulture

When the other team members saw Lin Fan, they were glad that he wasn’t hurt.

Ho Ming nodded at him and gave him a thumbs up.

A gesture he had learned from Lin Fan, who had said it meant ’very good’.

The others in the team, even though they didn’t know what it meant, also joined in and gave him the thumbs up.

"All right, not much time left for us. We better get going; the disappearance of a reconnaissance team is not something they would brush off easily."

Lin Fan said as he looked back at the path behind him.

He was right, as they saw orange spots appearing.

Most likely these were torches held by the Hulu tribe soldiers trying to find the reconnaissance team.

They hurried and continued their escape down the path.

After running for an hour, they finally reached the first point of contact with the Quan Soldiers.

They were now hungry and tired from the long battle.

"Only an hour left for us. Let’s rest for a moment first."

Hun Yen Kun suggested as he saw Lai Ming and Lai Qing’s faces turn pale as white.

Their wounds weren’t looking good even after taking the Blood and Qi Restoration pills.

They definitely needed some rest first.

"I’ll stand watch up ahead," Lin Fan said, and he walked back up the path to stand guard.

He was about five hundred meters away from the rest when he heard a growl.

A huge wolf with a mark of a crescent on its forehead stood tall in front of him, growling and showing its fangs.

It must have been sent to track where they were.

A familiar sound erupted in his mind.

[Ding!]

[Detected soul with malevolent intent incoming!]

[Terminate Crescent Wolf with malevolent intent for 300 vengeance points.]

Lin Fan wasted no time and, with his amulet, turned into an Ember Moose.

As its predator, the Crescent Wolf lunged at the Ember Moose instinctively.

The Ember Moose’s antlers burned brightly with flames and charged at it head-on.

The Crescent Wolf’s mark on its forehead glowed and a wave shaped like a crescent shot at the Ember Moose.

Lin Fan tried to dodge to the side but couldn’t do so in time.

He quickly turned back into his human form and the crescent wave went past his face.

A gust of wind could be felt as it traveled along.

Growl.

The Crescent Wolf growled and lunged at Lin Fan again.

Lin Fan quickly swapped out the Ember Moose demonic beast core inside the amulet with the Earth Breaker Salamander’s demonic beast core.

The next moment, the Crescent Wolf’s fangs came close to Lin Fan’s throat.

Thud.

Its fangs were suddenly stopped by the rock armor on the Earth Breaker Salamander’s body.

The Earth Breaker Salamander took a deep breath, making its belly bloat up.

Soon after, the belly went flat as hot glowing magma shot out from the cracks of the plates.

Howl.

The Crescent Wolf was too close to dodge the magma attack and its fur started burning.

Before the Crescent Wolf could roll over and put out the flames on its body, it saw a shimmer coming at it.

Whoosh.

Lin Fan turned and whipped the Earth Breaker Salamander’s tail at the Crescent Wolf’s head.

Smack.

The tail with hard armor plates smacked into the head.

The Crescent Wolf flew into the air, tumbling across the ground when it landed.

When the Crescent Wolf got up, it was disoriented as it shook its head vigorously.

It tried to wake up from the short concussion.

But it was covered by a huge shadow next as Lin Fan had leaped into the air with the Earth Breaker Salamander’s huge body.

Boom.

Lin Fan landed and the Crescent Wolf was smashed right under the Earth Breaker Salamander’s heavy weight.

The Crescent Wolf coughed blood from its mouth with sharp fangs.

It tried very hard to stand up but couldn’t. Discover more content at novelbuddy

Lin Fan then used the Earth Breaker Salamander’s feet and stomped on the Crescent Wolf’s head.

Thud.

Thud.

Splatter.

After a few stomps, the Crescent Wolf’s head splattered into a pulp of red and white mass.

A familiar sound erupted in Lin Fan’s mind.

[Ding! Congratulations on terminating malevolent intent.]

[Vengeance points + 300.]

[Current Vengeance Points: 2500]

Lin Fan quickly turned back into his human form.

The essence left in the Earth Breaker Salamander’s demonic beast core wasn’t much.

He had to conserve it for the next encounter.

Lin Fan quickly ran toward the rest of the team and said, "Get up. We’ve got to move."

He briefed them on his encounter as they got up and continued on their journey to the pickup point.

Military Guard Post.

A tall man with a huge beard stared at the soldiers looking down at the ground.

He was wearing attire like Hulu Xi Bai, luxurious-looking armor with lots of fur protecting him from the cold.

"Useless fools. A few of these Quan cowards and you can’t handle it."

He took out a whip and cracked it at one of the soldiers.

It ripped the head off the soldier.

The other soldiers kept quiet and looked at each other, trying to find a way out of their quagmire.

"General Boer Si Ti, the Crescent Wolf tamer has lost contact with it. Most probably killed."

A soldier came and reported the latest status.

"Useless! All of you!" Boer Si Ti went into a rage as the Crescent Wolf was one of his favorite pets.

He turned and glanced at his assistant.

The assistant nodded and scurried away.

"If I can’t get you from the ground, I shall take you out from the air!"

Boer Si Ti said.

The assistant came back holding a leash.

And tied to the leash was a huge vulture that had red feathers.

The Flaming Vulture was three meters long from head to tail and had a chair on it.

Boer Si Ti mounted it, stared at the soldiers and said, "The whole lot of you better follow my lead. I want to see you guys ready for battle when I land."

"Yes, General," the soldiers replied.

The next thing they saw was the Flaming Vulture flapping its wings.

Flames appeared underneath the wings and gave it the hot air required to glide.

Soon the Flaming Vulture took off and the soldiers grabbed their weapons, running after it.
