Chapter 119: A new hero

Chapter 119: A new hero

My jump created a terrifying gust of winds behind me. Flying in the air, I swing my sword at the demon.

The dragon moved back, giving time for the demon to prepare for his attack. His arms soon got covered with blood fangs, and as I did, he also jumped from the dragon, clashing his arms with my sword.

His strength was also decent, he was a Rank 7 Knight. Our clash sends us back.

I landed safely on the ground, gliding my way on it.

For him, he got back to the dragon.

Come at me again.

I ordered him and, once again, went ahead to clash with him.

Each of my attacks showed the fury inside me, all of it being showcased through my sword.

All of the onlookers were shocked by the insane battle ongoing there.

Even though there were people more powerful than me, none came in front right now.

Whether they be dragons, elves humans, or even those from the outside planet. All because of the identity assumed by the demon I was facing.

They were still scared of the terror that this character held.

Imagining it is making me feel glad and superior to them all.

But right now, there is another feeling being born inside them.

They were looking at someone going toe to toe against that demon they feared the most.

If one of them tried, then it would have been easier to completely destroy these two and yet none of them did.

This works well for me though.

After going at it for a few rounds. I commanded both of them again.

Come at me with your most powerful attacks, I will take you both back to my domain so they assume that you both disappeared from their sight.

As soon as my command went on, the vampire demon finally took out his sword. As he cast his skill, his sword turned dark due to the demonic mana.

The dragon also moved his wings, going high in the air so its attack could reach a greater distance.

I was enjoying this deeply from the inside. I could feel my heart pounding loudly with this excitement.

This wasn’t the excitement from the battle at all, it was the excitement I felt from fooling everyone here.

"I shall avenge the death of all the people that you took by your hand, demon. I shall do the justice for those poor souls." I roared at them, enough for everyone around to listen to that.

Yuck! How can people even say things like this with a straight face?

I steadied my sword, clasping its hilt tightly. Just a simple slash will be enough for this.

I have a whole arsenal of skills that I can use, but using those ranks skills is no fun, and I am not in the realm yet to use them.

But it will be fine.

As I waited for the attack, the people around me moved back, they knew what was coming now.

"Ravi, move from there." They yelled at me again, but I was going to take it head-on.

And the attack came. The dragon released the most powerful attack in his arsenal.

Even before the fire reached me, I could feel how hot it was.

For a moment, I felt like I shouldn’t have ordered it to go all out.

It was still a fucking rank 8 beast. I immediately covered my body with a thick layer of mana to protect myself from its flames.

Even the land burned with fire after his attack. The thick layer of mana around me started to thin out with his high flames.

It didn’t disappoint me, it was a good idea to keep the dragon around.

But enough, time to counterattack.

"Wind tornado."

The easiest way to diminish the flames? Wind. Use it wisely, it will go away instantly.

The thing about magic is it can do anything. With enough mana, anything is possible, and if you have appropriate knowledge, you can become God.

What extinguishes the fire? Carbon dioxide.

Using the carbon dioxide around me. Any flames can be extinguished.

Adding more mana to my sword that was filled with CO2, the dragon flames went away as quickly as they came.

Seeing that, all of them rejoiced for a second. Their new hope wasn’t losing to their enemy. Right? Right?

No.

This will be the moment.

Any hero can fail. No matter how powerful they are, they can fail.

People might love to see that, see someone fail, but that is when they are tired of seeing them win every time.

But this won’t be the case. It will not be fun if I win against the villain on my first try, right?

You know, this is something that I actually hate in battle, whether it be with me or someone else. I also hate myself for this.

That is... letting my guard down, thinking that I have won. Even though I go by the concept of crushing my opponents till they die, so, there is no chance of letting my guard down.

Still, I fell for it once. And now, it will happen again.

After the fire was gone, and thinking I withheld the attack. I relaxed my body.

Then at that time, something pierced my flesh, going straight towards my heart.

Bitch went straight for my heart, I didn’t order him to go for that. Even I can die, mf.

Yet I smiled back at him, but nobody saw that.

"RAVI?!!!!" Mother and Ayesha both yelled at me together and ran towards me, they couldn’t stay there and watch me die like this.

But I didn’t look at them. I was going for the last move.

Now, it won’t be interesting if I go down like this. How would they treat me like a hero if I lost here, right?

I grabbed the hand that was thrusting the sword into my hand, grinning at him with my blood-filled mouth; I raised my sword swung it down on him and slashed his hand.

His hand fell to the ground. At the same time, the dragon launched another attack on me; it was a diversion for them to escape.

I didn’t dodge the fire nor did I try to extinguish it again. I let it come at me, cause it was finally time for him to act.

With a flick of his hands, all the fire disappeared from the place.

And with that, the two of my precious jewels also disappeared.

I acted as if I had gotten unconscious and began to fall to the ground.

But my body didn’t reach the ground and was stopped mid-air.

It was time for him to take charge now. Who else could I be speaking of if not the grand elder?

This old mf was testing my strength the entire time.

The thing that dragons most respect is strength. And from the way he is grinning right now, I bet he was impressed.

Even the shock of the return of the demon king wasn’t making him wary at all. Partly the reason for that was because he knew about my(demon king) return. I was the one who gave him the hint in the first place.

The two women instantly came beside me. Their heart clenched seeing the deep sword wound in my heart.

Ayesha didn’t waste even a second and cast the regenerating spell on me.

Then suddenly a soft hand brushed past my face. That familiar touch wasn’t anything I could ever forget.

With this, she doesn’t have to feel that burden again.

Being a hero was never an easy thing, you always had to fight for the weak and win every battle you fought.

If you lose even one of them, then the consequences for that would be unimaginable.

The constant burden of always protecting the needy wasn’t an easy task.

But now, she can take a break from that. Even when she is told that she has left her character as the hero behind, she always tries her best to get her powers back.

I have seen her. Even now, she sits in a place, trying her best to see if she can gather mana inside her, each day.

But she was never able to.

The hero in her is still alive. She still wishes to fight the evil, but not now, I will take her responsibility.

I am the evil and I am the good.

No matter what now, I won’t let these two feel the burden of going to any lengths to save the weak.

From today, a new hero will be taking their place.

Thanks for reading, everyone.

So, here is a thing guys, I am going to write a new novel now. Not a smut one this time, based on an apocalyptic world, well, kinda one, not exactly that. It is similar to omniscient readers’ viewpoint, but not the same. I will probably do it tomorrow or a few days later. I hope you will give it a try; I will make sure to make it interesting.

Stay tuned for more...
