Chapter 38: Venting
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Ravi rushed out of the police station, not even bothering to take his bag with him. After running for a bit, he squatted down and covered his face.
The weather was cold but his face was hot, very hot.
Ravi touched a button and it transformed into a mirror. His face and ears were bright red. He touched his face, how had his beard grown so fast, no wonder Lisa had said that he looked like a homeless person.
But that was not the most important matter right now.
"I can only repay you with my body."
How could he say those words with that face and that expression? How could someone be so handsome?
And to think he had once told Hunter that he does not care about physical appearance, maybe it was that he had not seen a physical appearance that fit his every imagination for the word, handsome.
"Aah!" And when such a person unbuttons his top button, revealing a pale clavicle that seemed both defined and delicate...something warm dropped down and Ravi touched his nose, he was bleeding.
He swallowed and pulled on his core to stop the bleeding.
Shaking his head, Ravi slapped his face.
"Get it together."
It was Arlen Sinclair, his righteous Captain. A man who was as bright as the sun. If it was before Luxor, Ravi would no doubt want to be friends with this type of person but now, he was sure if he would like to be friends with such a person.
And the worst thing, the absolute worst thing is that he ran away as if he was a coward, like a blushing maiden, Ravi was so embarrassed that he wanted to hide and never show his face in public again.
"Yes, I should just quit." Ravi said loudly, "Maybe serving the remaining days in the army is not bad either."
"Is he crazy?" A young woman whispered to the girl she was holding hands with.
"Probably. Maybe he was dumped."
"A pity. No wonder he looks like he wants to cry."
Ravi’s hearing was better than most and the words of the people passing by entered his ears. How embarrassing.
He dusted off the imaginary dirt on his clothes and stood up, he interlocked his hands behind his back, held his head up high, and went home. As for today’s event, it never happened. Yes, it never happened.
***
Ravi rolled from the left to the right. He propped the pillows against each other and switched off the light. Closing his eyes for a few seconds, he suddenly sat up again.
It did not work. He was too frustrated, there was a restless energy in his heart that Ravi had not felt in a long time. He needed to blow off steam.
His mental energy spread quickly, pinpointing the tracker that he had planted in the body of Alex Malley. They were just off the coast of Hellios, their van must have been modified, Ravi was sure, that normal cars couldn’t reach that speed so quickly.
He did not want to get involved. He lay back down.
Then he sat up again. That Duplicator had shot Arlen and him. How dare she? They weren’t innocents so he could use them to vent.
Ravi shook his head, what was he thinking? He lay back down. If he counted sheep, he could probably go to sleep.
"One sheep, two sheep...six hundred sheep."
"Damn it!" Ravi vanished into thin air.
His body was reconstructed on top of a hill on the coast of Helios. He stood up, his body morphing and changing. His limbs grew longer and his hair grew even longer reaching his back. His clothes changed as he opted for the uniform he had won when he went to a mecha realm.
He should not be recognized, how should he? Now for a weapon, if the fight ends quickly it would be difficult for him to sleep peacefully.
There was something with his ability, if you want to create something, then the thing you create it from must be dear or must be similar. The best weapons are made from metal and since he did not have metal with him, he must make do with something dear and there is dearer to man than a part of his body, he reached out and with a pop, the socket of his left arm tore apart.
"Ouch!" No matter how many times he did this, it was still painful. The air dripped blood which evaporated when it landed on the ground.
He held the warm arm and it began to morph, changing color and shape. Until, a sword was in his hand.
The sword blade was silver and was as thin as a cicada’s wings. The blade looked exactly like River, the sword that had accompanied him for 500 years, the sword that could break any wall, any ability, the sword that he had left at Luxor.
His stomach churned and an unpleasant feeling filled his stomach. He looked at the blade and it began to morph, the blade now changed to a black color and became broad.
Much better. Ravi felt as if he could breathe better right now.
He jumped up and down on the tip of his toes five more times before he moved. He ran as fast as the wind.
A small smile tugged on his lips as he ran through the coast of Helios. He leaped on top of a huge tree, passing through the branches, he leaped on another and another.
He could see them now. A nondescript white van, that description had shown itself on one or more of his Saturday shows.
He floated down gracefully before appearing next to the car. The long sword slashed towards the right. A sudden jolt shook the car as the driver struggled to regain control, Ravi slashed the second tire and the van was sent careening off course.
The vehicle veered off the road before colliding with the roadside barrier.
"Who the fuck is that madman?"
The first person to crawl out of the car was Ignitor, he gritted his teeth as he looked up at Ravi before standing to his feet.
"Hello."
Ignitor looked at the man who greeted him calmly and took to the air, ignoring the warning that Duplicator sent on the radio. He took out ten stones, holding them with his fingers, and charged them up before throwing them at the man.
"Hello, my ass. You one-handed freak."
Ravi could feel the explosion coming, the charged atoms were on the verge of explosion, he moved, the sword turning into a baseball glove as he caught the stones. The buzzing stones morphed into one.
Ravi looked at Ignitor who looked so shocked that his attack had been caught as if it was ordinary balls. What was this person...He gritted his teeth. His own attack had been disregarded like child’s play. He reached for the stones in his pocket when he saw a large single stone coming towards him.
The stone had a dazzling white glow so sharp it was blinding, Ignitor’s eyes widened as he hurriedly moved back. The stone moved with him, slamming into him and electrocuting him to the point that smoke came out of his body as he crashed to the ground.
