Chapter 39: Finishing off Duplicator
Ignitor.
A younger male voice screamed.
"He is not dead." Ravi told him, "But he is feeling the pain of his power for the first time. He would be cautious in the future and not use it arbitrarily." He frowned, he should slow down or he might not enjoy this to the fool.
He looked at the man, Poison was his name, and the woman had also crawled out of the car, Duplicator. Ravi smiled.
"Poison, catch him alike, He has a similar ability to Ignitor."
"Similar?" Ravi whispered. That was an insult. His ability was atomic manipulation, one of the few creation powers in the universe.
He raised his hand and the atoms in the air charged up, he twisted them and they took the shape of small electric bolts, cascading down to Poison. Poison turned into a vapor, avoiding the onslaught. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Bang!
Ravi moved to the left and Bang! Another bullet came from the right. Duplicator, her power was really handy in battle. Ravi did not move this time as the bullet turned to ash before touching him.
As if angered, bullets came from various places, but Ravi ignored them all, he did not waste time chasing the atoms of the bullets, the air around vibrated around, creating a transparent barrier.
"What the fuck!’ Multiple Duplicators echoed.
Ravi could not see the vapor but he could feel it, his eyes flashed, and he manipulated the air molecules forcing them to collide and create localized pressure fluctuations. Poison was suddenly ensnared and he struggled against the sudden vacuum, his vapor form dispersing erratically. The vacuum turned into a dense lattice that confined Poison. The lattice tightened around him, restricting his movements and limiting his ability to transform into vapor. Poison struggled desperately, but each movement generated a shockwave that made his entire body constrict in pain.
She is fast. Another one of the Duplicators appeared next to him, a poisoned dagger in her hand, she slashed through the barrier, and just before her blade could reach Ravi, he disappeared, appearing on top of the car.
"You!" A shocked expression appeared on her face before vanishing, she was the leader of the team for a reason, "Teleportation. Spontaneous combustion, Barrier formation, and what you did to Poison. How can one person have all these powers? Who are you?"
Ravi cocked his head, "I am a simple farmer."
A farmer. How is that possible? This person must be a big shot from the Capital. She greeted her teeth as her original body planned its escape. To survive, she had to leave the hypnotist, and that brat, even her injured team member Duplicator did not care. Her life is more important than any mission.
"A farmer. How did we offend you? We apologize for anything that we have done to annoy you, my lord."
My lord! Isn’t her flattery a bit too much? But Ravi was not here to speak but to vent.
"Are you distracting me while your main body runs away?" He called her out calmly.
"What are you talking about? Why would I do something like that." In her heart, she swore and seven Duplicates jumped into the air with daggers, rushing to Ravi.
Ravi cracked his spine, flinching at the pain for a few seconds. A second later, two black wings sprouted from his back, Ravi flapping the wings and flew even higher.’
He looked down, "There you are. Miss, do you know that being shot is painful."
The baseball gloves hammered before they turned into a black gun.
"Being shot twice is even more painful."
"We are from the Infernal Covenant. If you kill us, the High Priest will never forgive you. Other disciples would hunt you forever."
Ravi rolled his eyes, and that sounded like something from a book.
"Nobody has time for that. Even the high priest of your group is not bored enough to come to this town. Hurry and die, I have work by 8 a.m"
This person was crazy. Crazy. Too strong and too crazy. She swallowed, she was not sure that her high priest would be able to defeat this person with so much ability and he was right. She was a three-star disciple, why would the high priest in the capital even seek revenge for her? Even if by grace, some disciple does, wasn’t she already dead? Why would that matter?
Duplicator started to multiply, even faster, different variants of her traveling to different places to conceal her true form.
Ravi looked down at the hundreds of the Duplicators running around in chaos. His hazel eyes were almost gray, like cold steel. His eyes were filled with indifference at her effort.
"Bang! Bang!"
In a bloody spectacle, the high-temperature rotating bullet entered her shoulder from one side. The force generated from the rotation of the bullet minced flesh, muscles, and blood vessels. Hundreds of meters down, Duplicator’s real body dropped like an empty sack and the hundreds of Duplicators dissipated like smoke.
Ravi flew down, and the wings folded back into itself until all that remained was a smooth back. Ravi did not even look at her body as he made his way to the vehicle. One more person to go and the cause of Arlen’s troubles. How would he send this one off?
He touched the car and the roof folded like a rumpled foil... The gun in his hand returned to a sword. He threw the foil aside, Alex Malley was lying on the backstreet, he was barely injured, just a little blood. He touched a stone before handcuffing him to the car.
He then looked in the driver’s seat for the shapeshifter. There was no shapeshifter, just an injured kitten next to the windshield, it was bleeding and was extremely injured.
Had the shapeshifter turned into a cat to mitigate the damage of the crash, judging from the wound? It had been useless. Since it would die in less than an hour, he might as well send it off.
He raised the sword and struck down. Something flashed in his mind and the sword just stopped a few millimeters from the kitten’s neck.
Why a kitten and not an adult cat? Ravi swallowed and touched the kitten. He was not sure he could still do this properly, it had been more than three hundred years since he left the realm.
Pulling energy from his core, he tried to read the bone age of the kitten.
Ravi’s hand trembled. It was just a thirteen-year-old child.
Fuck!
