Alex was just about to do something crazy when Grandpa Aristotle rose to his feet. He shared so much with Alex, and without a doubt, he knew what would happen if he didn’t take charge of the situation.

He was shivering from anger but tried his best to remain calm. Knowing the depth of Alex’s anger, he was not ready to bury another relative and was also not willing to revisit the past.

The atmosphere was even more uncomfortable, and the fear Logan instilled in the air by revealing what Alex did thickened.

Joanna could still not believe that Alex had carried her all this while, and though there was a lot of discomfort, being their first time in a position like that, she endured it. But if not for the fact that Alex prevented her before, she would have stood up a long time ago.

Nevertheless, the revelation got her so scared that all she wanted was to be away from him. The only person whose name was a terror to all, including presidents, was Salvadore Black, whom no one had seen before.

Yet, she could not tell after the revelations if she was more afraid of Salvadore now or Alexander King, her contract husband.

Then, she recalled Dr. Colton, not knowing his whereabouts and realizing that her life was now entangled with that of the devil billionaire cripple.

She had to play smart if she wanted to survive. Adhering to grandpa’s instruction and pretending as if she had not heard a single word, a smile bloomed on her lips, but the fear in her heart was intense as she asked, "Sorry. Does your legs hurt?"

Unknown to her, it awakened strange emotions inside Alex, and his anger died. A smile blossomed on his face, making him even more attractive.

It seemed to them that Alex was indeed in love with Joanna. That smile was so rare, one that even Fiona never got from him throughout their entire time of dating.

They all left with Joanna alone in the living room, but when they reached their cars, Logan suddenly called Cole and his family together.

"I can help you defeat them if you do as I say," he proposed. Cole was excited. "I’m all ears."

A satisfied smile stretched Logan’s lips as he gave his card. "Call me, and let’s talk. There are cameras everywhere."

Cole was super thrilled, as he saw Logan enter his Rolls Royce with Fiona, before they drove away.

In the car, Logan made things clear to Fiona. "Our relationship has ended, but you can work for me instead."

Fiona was confused and regretful for not having played her cards well by trying to get back with Alex after momentarily forgetting that he was still a cripple.

"Can’t we start over? You also openly tried to get Joanna back. We are even."

"Sure, we are, but there are loads of fishes in the sea for me. There should be the same for you since you don’t seem to be a decent woman," Logan said heartlessly. A bitter smile stretched Fiona’s lips.

"After all this, you still haven’t changed."

After what has happened, the reason for Grandpa’s doting on Alex being obvious, she thought Logan would genuinely change, but it was far from that.

"Can a leopard change his skin color?" Logan asked, adding, "if you can make a toad fly, then I can indeed change."

Fiona was so upset and yelled. "Stop the car. We are done."

Logan smiled knowingly. "Needless to say, we already are, so why not try to get Alex back, hmmm?"

If Fiona could use her feminine charm to win back Alex, then Logan could equally have Joanna back, right? Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy, but there was a problem.

At the mansion, Cole sat in his car with his wife and daughter, but his expression was emotionless, making Rene disturbed.
