Chapter 451: Are You Sure...
"Are you saying the Forest King body you bought at the auction was used in creating that terrifying lady that just appeared?" Lady Lani, who was still in shock, asked.
"Indeed." Kent decided to calm her nerves down a bit, so he gave her something to be shocked about.
What he didn't expect was her reaction. It was like she had heard the most unbelievable thing in the world. Even mentioning that the world would soon come to an end didn't seem to worry her much.
Nara could just hold her friend through her shocked moment.
When she recovered, she could only stare at Kent for as long as she could. When she had enough, she chose to take a breather.
"Take care of her while I am gone," Kent said to Nara.
"Where are you going? You have already called more danger onto yourself, so you should probably leave this city before it's too late," Nara said.
"That wouldn't solve the problem, would it?" Kent asked. Of course, he can't just ignore a quest packed with dozens of rewards.
"The moment I choose to run, they will become more aggressive and perhaps do more harm than they've already done.
Of course, I can get stronger before returning to face them. But that wouldn't be fun, would it?
So I will stay, and with my strength now, I will ensure everyone becomes aware of the danger they will face in the future after I get even stronger.
So I will stay and kill as many as I can."
Nara sighed.
"Weren't you the same person that said the world is coming to an end? Why kill them when you can take them as allies through negotiation?"
"Even you don't believe in what you just said. But while having them as allies would be good, I don't see that outcome as favourable to me.
Of course, the world is big, and I will meet allies, but why settle for scum when you can use their bodies to create better warriors?
This is why I will kill them and use their bodies to make better warriors who are reliable and won't run in fear when the apocalypse descends.
Trust me, it's the best for all of us." Kent looked toward Lady Lani's direction and smiled. "Feel free to tell her what she wanted to know. She is family now."
His smile bloomed.
Nara sighed and walked away.
Kent also sighed and looked at the time left until his fourth undead would be created.
'A little over three days. I better get started then.' He left the hotel to meet with Sword King Shawn.
The moment he was gone, Lady Lani turned to her friend.
"Nara, tell me, just who is Kent? I chose to accompany him this time so I could learn more about him, but it seems he is someone I just can't understand."
"Join the wagon," Nara smiled.
"I am trying to understand him, but at every turn, it was like he becomes even more mysterious."
The two ladies sat down and started to talk more about Kent.
Meanwhile, in a private room in a certain inn, Kent was now seated across from Sword Saint Shawn, who was now more interested in knowing more about Kent.
Their conversation lasted for four good hours before Kent left. Kent made sure he told him all he knew about the Hand, considering he had already seen his reaction and knew he wanted to know.
After he left the Inn, he made his way toward a certain direction that was not the hotel where the two ladies were waiting for him.
After moving for a while, he entered yet another inn and booked an empty private room. He ordered a tea and sat down to drink.
A few minutes into his drink, a figure entered the inn, ordered a drink, and sat in a separate room.
"You do know following people around isn't polite, right?" Kent said, taking a sip of his drink.
"I don't know if you would want to talk to me after what happened during the competition," the voice spoke from the other room.
Of course, they each spoke like they were whispering. However, it was heard by each other.
They were just using spiritual qi to speak, so you wouldn't hear anything unless someone knew what was happening.
Even if you were sitting across from them, they wouldn't hear what they were saying.
"You followed me either way, so you might as well tell me what you want," Kent said.
"You know why I am here already, don't you? The last time, you said I have a poison in my body. If you could tell that at just a glance, then I am sure you know more than I am telling you."
Kent smirked, sipping his tea.
"Tell me, did you kill the person whose skin you are wearing?"
"Yes. And before you think ill of me, know that she deserved it."
"I see. Then what do you want from me?" Kent asked again.
"I want you to help me cure the poison, and in return, I will serve you for ten years."
Kent lowered his teacup and looked at the lady who was also looking in his direction despite a wall blocking them.
The look on her wrinkled face said it all. She was damn serious.
"That is a huge commitment," Kent said.

"I waited 72 years for this moment, so I believe I can wait for ten more years." There was no hesitation in her tone, nor did she show any sign of doubt.
"Are you sure?" Kent asked.
"I am," the lady replied.
"I see." Kent took yet another sip.
"Although I would love to have you as my servant, I have integrity. You clearly have a reason for taking on this identity, so setting you back ten years wouldn't be good.
So I have a different offer that will benefit you regardless. If you are done with your business and you still want to repay me for curing you, I will be willing to take you as my servant."
Kent set his cup down and took a vial containing the cure from his space ring.
He vanished, and the next second, he was inside the next room where the wicked Poison Witch was sitting.
"Happy hunting." He set the vial and a communication token down before vanishing away. The next second, he was 4 km away.
Meanwhile, far at the core universe, the beautiful lady smiled...
"Oh, Chaos, though you are running from your destiny, sometimes you can't run too far. Destiny has a way of catching up to you."
