However, her peace was shattered that very night when she fell into a series of nightmares once again.

When she woke up, she was panting hard. Her entire body was covered in cold sweat.

Just like before, this time also she saw the entire series of events that led up to Adrian’s death.

Ella remained seated on the bed for a few seconds.

After a while, she grabbed her phone and stared at the caller ID ’Baby’ for a few seconds.

And all their incomplete tasks caught up to them so the higher ups had all gathered around for an important meeting in the middle of the night.

First, their Boss’s phone beeped.

Second, Secretary Ji peeked at it and showed something.

Then, the frigid atmosphere in the room melted into warm waves as their Boss... Their Boss suddenly smiled.

And then, he took the phone, typed something before returning it to Secretary Ji.

It was only at this point that the phone in Ji Yan’s hand suddenly started ringing.

He was so startled that he almost dropped the phone seeing the caller ID ’Elle *red heart emoji*’

Oh, unlike the last time, there were even two red heart emojis.

Feeling the Second Master’s gaze fixated on him, he was about to pass the phone but in his fluster he swiped a couple of buttons.

And suddenly, the call was answered and the phone was on speaker.

A cheery and honeyed voice reverberated in the walls of the meeting room.

"Good morning, baby. May you shine as bright as the sun today~Ah, you are brighter than the sun already..."

And much to everyone’s surprise, Adrian did not twitch in eyelid at the sound of this overtly cringe display of affection.

But rather, he calmly turned the speaker off and put the phone against his ear.

His quiet gaze scanned around the place once.

And the employees immediately scampered off like their life depended on it.

Ji Yan initially stayed by Adrian’s side but something suddenly occurred to him. Checking the time on his watch, he bowed to Adrian and left.

’’Why are you awake?"

To Adrian’s words, Ella hugged her pillow tighter, ’’No specific reason. Why did you ask?"

Her emotions did not change in the slightest but the man sitting on the swivel chair looked a bit colder, ’’Another nightmare?"

Ella paused and then let out a light laugh, ’’Baby, what’s with that scary voice all of a sudden? People will think you are willing to fight with my nightmares and demons...’’

Adrian’s eyes narrowed. After a moment, he leaned back on the swivel chair and closed his eyes.

When he opened them again, they were calm.

’’Did I disturb you somehow? Since you replied to my text, I called you just like that knowing that you are also awake early.’’

Adrian’s pale complexion seemed to glow under the bright lights and his red eyes made him seem more intimidating than usual.

When he heard the first part of Ella’s words, those inhumane eyes seemed to gain a small spark, ’’You did not.’’

Ella chit-chatted for some time but then she realized that she was the only one doing most of the talking.

Afraid of getting on his nerves, she decided to stop pushing his buttons.

With a sweet goodbye, she quickly hung up.

On the other hand, unbeknownst to Ella, the employees of the King Empires celebrated over the declaration of a one-day holiday.

The common plebs didn’t know of the background story but the higher ups who were present in the meeting could only rub their arms to soothe their goosebumps.

They suddenly realized that this lady was probably the potential lady boss. And not just a lady boss for show given how easily she could affect their Boss’s mind.

So, they made a mental note to keep an eye out for this mysterious lady so that they could prostrate themselves at her feet whenever this goddess made an appearance in front of them.

Back in Imperial University.

Ella maintained her usual routine.

After talking to Adrian, she went for a run and even by the time she returned, the campus was mostly empty with some of the staff members loitering here and there.

Today happened to be the day when the results of their class test came out.

Mr. Grimwood entered the class, wearing a grim expression on his face.

Ella glanced sideways and realized that as usual, her seatmate held a book close to his face.

And he was so immersed in it that he didn’t even care who came or who left. He sat there like he was a genius in his own rights, unbothered by mere mortals.

Ella sighed inwardly. As expected, the King Family indeed was a place of rare gems.

Of course, this Kade guy did not really hold a candle to the big devil but still, mere plebs would pale in comparison to this aura.

However, in a matter of few seconds, her assumptions were quashed.
