Chapter 58: AUCTION 5

In the room were the richest of the rich, the wealthiest of the wealthy, yet none felt satisfied with Frank and the Blackwood’s collection.
While the guest that bidded items prepared to pay, the auctioneer suddenly broke the lull. "If you think we’re done, then you must be mistaken," he announced with a practiced smile.
He gestured grandly toward the stage as attendants revealed the next collection. "These are the Blackwoods’ latest creations, handcrafted diamonds by Harlow and Claudia Blackwood."
Harlow froze. The name announced was not what she had submitted. She had explicitly provided the name of her independent company, yet here was her work being presented as a joint effort with Claudia under the Blackwood name.
She turned to her father whose eyes were on the stage and then turned to her sister who smiled stylishly.
They were using her—her talent, her work—to rehabilitate the Blackwood family name. But what about her? What about the damage done to her reputation?
"Excuse me, Auctioneer," Harlow called out sharply, rising from her seat.
The man barely glanced at her, his expression dismissive. "Ma’am, you’re not allowed to speak unless you’re bidding."
Harlow’s voice didn’t falter. "Then I’d like to withdraw my collection from this auction. I’ll sell it elsewhere."
The auctioneer hesitated, clearly taken aback. The diamonds had not yet been displayed in detail, and the audience hadn’t gotten a close look. He leaned closer to his mic. "What seems to be the issue, madam?"
"My collection has been misnamed," she said firmly, ignoring the murmurs spreading through the room like wildfire.
"And what is the correct name of this collection?"
Before she could respond, Frank interjected, his voice laced with authority. "You’re causing a commotion here, Harlow," he said, his words sharp enough to cut. In that moment, Harlow understood. This wasn’t a misunderstanding, it was a calculated move.
Her father wants to steal the diamonds and give the glory to her sister.
She never saw this coming. If she did, she wouldn’t have ever let them out. She would have marketed them herself.
Frank will never let his daughter make another hundreds of millions when he has nothing.
But Father," she began, her voice wavering with equal parts hurt and anger.
"Guards, take her away," Frank ordered coldly.
Before she could react, two men in black suits seized her arms, dragging her from the hall. The humiliation burned, and a tear slipped down her cheek.
What will the next headline be?
HARLOW BLACKWOOD DRAGGED FROM HER FATHER’S AUCTION...
She wasn’t a celebrity, but she is sure she’s even more popular now than her sister. Harlow smiled bitterly.
Her father hadn’t only just hurt her feelings this time, he had wounded her in places that can never heal. Right now, she’s felt what other people had felt when he forcefully took things from them. In this life, she realized her father isn’t at all the Mr nice she had once thought him to be.
He’s a heartless demon who would do anything for wealth and power, even if it means destroying his own child.
"Woo, that was a major distraction," the auctioneer joked, trying to diffuse the tension. "As I was saying, this collection was created by the Blackwood sisters, more by the talented Claudia and less by the other one." The room erupted in laughter, their mockery driving another dagger into Harlow’s heart.
Her father has turned her into a laughingstock in the society over her doomed collection.
"You have one choice, Harlow, sit quietly and watch them auction the products, or watch it from your device while locked in the car."
"We both know those diamond jewels are my collection, my idea," Harlow yelled at him.
"Will you like it if our family name is being tarnished? A name I and your mother worked so hard for. She would be ashamed of you if she was alive." Harlow scoffed at his words.
"And what about me?"
"What about my name you keep soiling to uplift yours and Claudia’s?"
"You said I was useless and couldn’t do anything even if I built your diamond company from scratch to where it is today. I MADE THAT COMPANY."
"AND I MADE YOU!!!" Frank took a deep breath. "For years since your mother died, it has only been you Harlow, why are you jealous your sister is getting a fraction of the love I gave you?"
"Jealous? This is not love. If you have to hate me to show her love, then it is not love, it’s just pretense and foolishness..."
*Slap*
Harlow gritted her teeth, her cheek stinging from the slap her father gave her. It would be the first time her father has laid hands on her since she can remember.
"I made you Harlow, and I can break you," Frank said and started walking away.
"Do you think mother is happy with you? First, you cheated on your wedding night and brought a mistress into the house, now you hurt her only child." The guards dragged her away.
Harlow couldn’t control the tears that streamed down her face. She couldn’t believe it. All of her hard work, everything she’s worked so hard for has been stolen from her. It didn’t take anything for Frank to steal everything away from her, and here she is crying like a baby. Giving them the satisfaction they need.
Now in the car surrounded by her father’s guards, she watched the auction from her device, she watched her family make five billion from her diamond collection. They were so beautiful that those rich people were willing to invest all of their money in them.
That five billion is her money. Her father and entire family had robbed her in broad daylight, but she will get her revenge.
She opened her cell phone and hacked into a server. This time she destroyed things five billion couldn’t fix. She’ll make her father spend all of that money and more.
Harlow turned off her phone. freёweɓnovel.com
After the auction, Frank celebrated with his daughter. Everyone congratulated them for their victory tonight. It’s the highest they’ve made from any auction, all thanks to Harlow.
Frank was very much excited about everything. This is all he ever wanted, he couldn’t imagine his daughter making all of this money alone. If he hadn’t followed Claudia’s words at the last minute, they would have left with embarrassment, and Harlow with all of the money.
The guards left the car after the auction and Harlow stepped out. Richie, Elena, and Edward rushed towards her. They had all seen the way her father treated her, the way her family treated her before everyone.
They knew how hard Harlow worked to get her revenge on Claudia, but at the end of the day, her sister got the last laugh.
"Are you alright?" Elena asked and she nodded.
"Let’s go, I don’t want to spend another second in this place." At her words, they all started walking away.
