Chapter 86: NIGHT VISITORS 2
During the time of evening, Harlow finally got a call from Evans Collin Berg. She has been awaiting his call for three days now. Harlow was a little scared her screenplay would do nothing. Since everything had changed from her past life, she knew this too might change.
She had no idea why the universe had decided to punish her this way.
"Good evening Mr Berg." Harlow greeted politely.
"Good evening Mrs Hamilton ." The man greeted. "How are you today?" He asked.
"I’m alive."
"And your husband? Please say me well to him." Harlow said nothing to him. She would never admit to anyone any day that Alanis is her husband. The only reason she remarries him is to get revenge on him and his family. To make them pay for everything they did to her.
"I went through your screenplay..." Harlow closed her eyes waiting for the rejection already.
"It was a wonderful write up Mrs Hamilton. The best we’ve gotten in years. I and my team see potential in this play, and we would love to enter into an agreement with you." Harlow couldn’t believe it.
They accepted her screenplay...
They called it the best... She covered her mouth with her palm, too stunned to say a word to anyone.
"A... Are you there Mrs Hamilton?" Evans’s voice was heard and Harlow recovered from her shock.
"Why don’t I visit you so that we can finalize everything." She has seen this in her past life. She has watched her ideas come to life in her past life, but she made zero pennies out of it. The movie grossed a billion in a week, yet she made nothing from it. The world praised Claudia for writing such wonderful screenplay without an idea the brain behind it was stuck at home trying to please a useless man.
"That will do. I look forward to seeing you Mrs Hamilton." He said and hugged up. Harlow got out of bed jumping and dancing at her new success. She was so happy with how everything was going. She’s so sure her Alex would be so proud of her wherever he is.
But was he really proud of her? No child would be proud of a mother who couldn’t protect them. Alex must be cursing her now, as always. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"Miss Harlow." The sudden call from Ava shook her from her thoughts and she rose from her bed. She had just achieved something, memories from her last shouldn’t ruin her mood. There’s a reason, she was given a chance to relive her life again. It’s up to her if she would lose Alex twice or make things right again.
"Are you alright Miss Harlow? I thought I heard noises." Ava said. It was enough that Claudia had visited that day. Though she has waited for signs of any car or Grandma Blackwood arriving, she has seen none. It seems Claudia didn’t tell her father about Harlow after all.
It’s been hours since she left, she must have gone back by now, and if she had told Frank then he would have been here or at least sent her guards to bring Harlow home again.
"I received a call from the director of ’Shoot Pictures’ stating that my screenplay was extraordinary and they want to make a movie with it. I’ve been asked to sign a deal with them Ava." Ava jumped from happiness. This is the best news she’s heard today after everything that happened.
She has been praying for this for three whole days and God answered her prayers. She was super grateful.
"We should celebrate." Ava suddenly said.
"Yes, we should." Harlow agreed.
"I’ll go get us a drink and cakes from down the street. I’ll be back soon." Ava picked up her purse from the table and hurried out. Harlow stayed in her room smiling at her thought of the future. She was extremely happy. Just as she sat there, that man flashed in her thoughts and Harlow quickly waved it off.
She hated his guts that day. Talking about she would be the first one to break her rules. She frowned. Alanis probably does not know who she is. He doesn’t know he’s just a pawn she was using to get to the height she wanted to get to. Once she’s done with him, she’ll toss him aside, just like he did her.
After a few moments, Harlow stared at the door wondering why her maid was not yet back. The shop she was headed to was just two buildings away. She’s never spent this long outside.
Harlow was about to go look for her when she heard the front door creak open slightly. She sat back down, Ava must be back.
"Ava, what took you so long," Harlow asked staring at her cell phone, but Ava didn’t respond to her. She started at the door which didn’t look like anyone just stepped in. She was sure she heard the front door open just now or was it another one of her imagination?
"Ava, if you’re trying to prank me it’s not funny." Harlow bent her head to stare at her maid who could be hiding before the door just to scare her. Ava was so good at her ghost pranks.
When Harlow was a child, she would always prank little Harlow around the big mansion, especially during Halloweens. Harlow will run around the mansion, screaming and crying till she’s saved. But that was long ago and the ghost prank stopped when she was sixteen when she was no longer scared of the ghosts anymore.
When Harlow stared under the door, she had expected to see just one foot, but she saw more than two feet by the door.
Did Ava invite their neighbors to come celebrate with them? Harlow smiled. She walked to the door and opened it only to be greeted by four gigantic men standing before her door. One of them held Ava by her mouth and waist and the others held the drink Ava had bought for them.
"What took you so long to open the door Harlow darling." One of the men smiled.
