Claudia followed Gus closely behind, till he arrived at his estate. She knew the security wouldn’t let her in so she overtook and blocked his entrance. Once she had succeeded, she stopped her car and stepped down.

"Mr Gus." She called walking towards the car, her heels clicking against the brick floor. She was desperate. She needed to speak to Alanis. He couldn’t have chosen her sister over her. This must be a mistake. He had promised her he would never leave her no matter what. He promised her he would never love Harlow even if he was only marrying her for her inheritance.

Gus stared at the woman he had seen earlier with his boss’s wife and also stepped out of the car. He wondered why she had followed him all the way to his place. Did his boss’s wife want something from him?

Did she no longer like the gift he sent and he had already sent a message to Alanis about her appreciation?

"You might have heard of me, but you don’t know who I am..."

"I am Claudia Blackwood." Gus’s eyes turned wide at her words. The sisters were friends now? But... But... But he thought... He thought they...

"I’m looking for your boss, it seems he’s hiding from everyone, where is he?" She asked without beating around the bush. She was done with the games. Alanis has to explain why he couldn’t keep his promise to her. Why did he suddenly want her sister?

"I’m sorry ma’am, but you’ve come to the wrong person if you’re looking for my boss," Gus said calmly. Claudia wasn’t buying it, there’s no way this man would not know where Alanis is. How the fucking hell do they communicate then?

"What do you mean the wrong person, aren’t you his assistant?" Gus nodded.

"I am." He responded.

"Then where is he, how can you not know where he is? You’re his assistant." Claudia asked confused herself. This man must think of her as a fool, she was more than that.

"Ma’am, I’m so sorry, but I can’t give you what you want. Please let me pass through before I call the security on you." Gus said.

"Call the security?" Claudia laughed so loud, that one would think she had gone mad.

"You seem to forget who you’re speaking to. I am Claudia Blackwood, I can buy this entire estate and chase you out." She bragged. She just needed a little call with her father and the estate will be hers in no time. They don’t have wealth or power, they are wealth and power. They

"I’m so sorry if I offended you, ma’am. But I really don’t know where my boss is." Gus tried to explain.

"So how were you able to deliver his gifts to my stupid sister, if you haven’t seen him?" She asked waiting for his response.

Stupid sister? Gus thought. He knew both sisters could not be close, but did his madam know about this?

"He sent them to me..."

"Lies!"

"You’re hiding him. He might be in your house, I know you’re hiding him. You better release him before I call his family and you’ll get arrested for abduction. I don’t think you want to know what will happen to you." She threatened.

Gus’s house was the only place she could think of. She has called all of the hotels in the city asking after Alanis Hamilton and no one agreed to have him even if she had offered millions in exchange for his information. They all denied having such a guest in their hotel, but they promised to call if they saw him.

"Ma’am, you can do your search in my apartment yourself, you will see I’m not hiding my boss." Gus initiated.

"Do you think if you initiated searching I wouldn’t go?" Claudia laughed. "Let’s go." She got into her car and reversed. Gus spoke with the estate security men before stepping inside his car. In no time they arrived at his apartment.

The gate yawned open and Gus drove in. Claudia didn’t drive in, she parked her sports car at the entrance of his apartment and walked in with her legs.

"Welcome to my home?" Gus said when they stepped in, but the girl behind pushed past him and started moving around his apartment. She was sure Alanis was hiding her somewhere.

"Alanis there’s no point hiding anymore. You have been found, come out now let’s talk." Claudia called moving into the apartment without permission and Gus let her. He knew he wasn’t hiding anything so he had nothing to fear.

Gus had no idea what game his boss was playing, but making the two most wanted girls in the country chase him was a huge deal. Men would give anything to be with them, yet he got them in his palm.

Claudia left no place unseen and when she was done, she walked back into the living room panting and exhausted. Alanis was not in his assistant mansion, he was nowhere to be found. No one knew where he was.

"He’s not here," Claudia said to the man sitting on the couch with an I told you so face. She felt so ashamed, she was running after Alanis like a crazy person. She was running after someone who didn’t love her anymore. She sobbed lightly. She couldn’t believe it. She had lost the one man she loved to her sister.

"No. Are you crying?" Gus asked surprised. This woman was crying because she couldn’t find his boss. Was it that serious? But doesn’t she know he was remarrying her sister?

"Do you know what it means to be in love, Gus?" Gus was speechless at her question. He has never been in love before so he has no idea what love is. Besides he’s not the right person for this question. He’s just an assistant, not a love doctor.

He wanted to help Claudia, to give her hints so that she could find his boss, but Alanis had threatened to cut off his head if he told anyone where he was.

He has seen Alanis being ruthless before. The last thing Gus wanted was to get beaten the same way.

"W... Well..."

"You won’t understand. You don’t know what love is. Someone as ugly as you will never find love or be desirable to any woman." She picked up her bag and started walking towards the door. Gus frowned watching her retreating figure. He was glad he never helped her.

"When next you see your boss, tell him, to call me." She opened the door at her words and stepped out. When Claudia got out, she wiped her tears and brought out her cell phone.

Harlow will pay for every tear that falls from her face. She dialed a number and placed the call in her ears.

"I need it done tonight." She hung up after. Now she has Harlow’s location, she could do whatever she wanted.
