Chapter 271 Split Up

Chapter 271 Split Up

"Where the hell is Shadow King?!" Shouts rang across camp.

It was smoky here. Even in the mid day sun, the atmosphere was grim. Everyone was tense, and people were running around.

Absolutely no one was sleeping. Everyone was wide awake, looked across the barricades.

Myriad Arrows and Kierch were in front of Bright Horizon, while Phoenix was glaring at them with anger.

"Where the hell is your irresponsible guild leader? He even said that he was going to stay awake. Don't tell me, he logged out and is lying in one of the tents here." She snarked.

"He didn't sleep. I know it. He is unavailable on chat, but it doesn't say that he is logged out. That means that he is in the game." Myriad Arrows shook his head.

"Then where the hell is he?" Phoenix shrieked.

"We have bigger things to worry about. Don't tell me, we can't do something without him? We have a vice guild master here, someone who is going to step into his role." Kierch calmly said.

"You have your side to take care of. You know what to do." Phoenix's eyes trembled, and her flaming sword was already drawn out.

"Of course, we had to be ambushed while we were resting." Myriad Arrows shook his head as he looked past the barrier.

For all the eye could see, there were monsters. Monsters of all shapes and sizes. He could see monsters small and a greenish gray, like goblins.

He also saw the same monsters that everyone faced a few hours ago. The zombies that were clearly strong enough to cause havoc in the ranks.

But there were many monsters here that Myriad Arrows had no idea about. Faces that he didn't recognize, or even hear about.

These were unknown beasts, probably being sighted for the first time.

"What is with our luck? How are we getting only the weirdest and most peculiar enemies? It is like this is tailor made for each guild, and the world just decided to make our fight that much harder." Myriad Arrows shook his head.

His silver bow was already out, and a few arrows were in his hands, ready to fire.

But he didn't make the first move. He didn't want to draw in the aggro. That was the most stupid thing an archer could do. No archer would ever want to draw the aggro of so many monsters.

That was a task for the tanks, who were taking some time to get here.

"Where the hell is everyone? I thought that we got everyone ready for a potential attack!" Myriad Arrows shouted.

"Well, no one expected it. Half of our tier two experts are logged out, sleeping in the comfort of their home." Phoenix shook her head.

"And you blame our guild for our unpreparedness? At least we are at majority capacity." Myriad Arrows shot back.

"Not the time to fight among each other." Kierch reminded Myriad Arrows.

"Get the tanks to take the front line. The monsters here are clearly waiting for something. What are they waiting for?" Kierch asked.

"God knows. Maybe they have a leader that is waiting to pass the command." Myriad Arrows shrugged.

"Well that means that there is a boss that we have to take care of. If we take care of the leader, perhaps this group will disband like the last time. The goal right now should be lasting." Kerch reminded Myriad Arrows.

"If the boss is even remotely as strong as the boss that you and Shadow King fought together, then we are absolutely screwed. You know how strong the bosses here are. And for some reason, we weren't able to even defeat it." Myriad Arrows said.

"Then we should only hope." Kierch shrugged.

His twin swords shone in the sunlight as he brandished them, taking a step forward.

"Don't. If you make an attack before them, then every single one of the monsters will start attacking. Let the standstill stay for a minute or two. Every minute the stand still stays, we will be able to prepare just a little more." Myriad Arrows shook his head.

"Fine." Kierch grunted in response, but his eyes were still locked onto the monsters that were standing in front of him, ready to be massacred.

Myriad Arrows looked around, glancing coldly at the tanks who were hustling, trying to create a frontline in front of the logs that were put up as temporary barriers.

Even though a simple push would trample the barrier, the monsters decided not to take a step forward. No one knew why though. They just knew that they had to thank whoever had the ideas to put up the barriers, for the fight was delayed just enough for them to prepare.

"Is every single tier two player awake? Make sure all of them are awake. I don't care if they are tired. We better survive this," Myriad Arrows shouted again.

It was utter chaos at the camp. People were still running around, but the number of people slowly settling in the right places, taking their position in the array was increasing.

The trees were irritating, but also proved to be useful places for a few archers and mages to hole up, giving them the advantage of height and protection.

Myriad Arrows also considered going up, but he hesitated. As the vice guild master, it was better if he stayed on the battle field with everyone else.

"You can probably go up when the battle enters full swing. I will need support from someone like you. Without you, the boss fight would probably not have reached that far." Kerch said.

"We will see. For now, let us hope that that situation will not arise in the first place." Myriad Arrows said.

He gripped his bow even tighter.

"Where the hell are you, Shadow King?"
