Chapter 32: Hidden Basement (2)
Kyle sneaked all the way in and stopped in front of a secluded wooden house.
The difference between the house he was standing in front of and the other homes was that the patrol was much stronger in the other areas. This house just had a soldier guarding its door.
Was this an officer’s resting place? Maybe the Command post?
Kyle was astonished, the door was not only locked, but it was hidden.
Well, if the command post of the base could be taken out, the plan to infiltrate the base would be half successful.
The problem was as to how he would sneak into the house.
Kyle frowned but abruptly smiled as he suddenly remembered something.
***
In front of the huge house.
The soldier stood in front of the door like a huge poplar tree, clinging to his gun rigidly and kept a sharp lookout for intruders.
Even if they were inside their own base, he couldn’t put his guard down because he couldn’t afford to be negligent in guarding the thing stored inside.
“Just one more hour and I’ll be off duty,” The soldier thought wistfully when suddenly, a dark creature dropped from the sky and slammed its wings in his face.
“Bats?!”
Stunned, he reached out and attempted to catch it. However, the bat was so aggressive that it bit him in the corner of his eye and did not let go.
“Get away from me!” The soldier closed his eyes in pain as he got slammed back against the door. Enraged, he grabbed the bat with both his hands.
During this gap in the defense, a blurry figure swept past him and entered the door of the house.
“What’s the matter?!”
A patrol team rushed to the scene to inquire about the ruckus, but the soldier angrily threw the now strangled bat on the ground and spat at it. “Bah! Nothing, just a bat.”
Witnessing such a pleasant sight, the patrol stood gazing at each other in a loss.
The guard closed the door of the house; however, in the darkness inside, a clear outline of a figure slowly revealed itself. It was Kyle in the Stealth mode!
“The biological card is much more practical than one would think,” Kyle muttered to himself. It was just a white card but worked wonderfully during such occasions.
However, this was only possible due to the biological card’s characteristic–– Obedience.
Creatures summoned from the biological card have to obey their master’s orders which prevents a lot of accidents and make them a true ‘biological’ weapon.
“Well, let me check out what’s in here.”
Kyle’s eyes fell on the hall of the house, and immediately, he realized that it was no resting place or command post.
The layout was like that of a material storehouse. The huge house was packed with rows and rows of boxes of various kinds.
He didn’t even need to open the boxes to inspect their contents. As Kyle focused on them, a chain of extractable cards started drifting in front of each box.
【German Rifle】, 【Rifle Bullet】 , 【Anti-tank Mine】, 【Detonator Grenade】.
Arsenal?
Kyle’s eyes lit up. This was of a much higher priority than the headquarters!
After all, finding the command post could only threaten the life of the commander but having access to the enemy’s arsenal was akin to holding their lifeline in your hands.
As Kyle walked further into the house, he extracted weapons in the form of cards every three seconds.
When he reached the innermost part of the house, he abruptly crouched down and knocked on the floor lightly. A hollow ‘dong’ sound echoed.
In addition to all that arsenal, there was a hidden basement too?!
Kyle smiled, such a small trick couldn’t fool him. Soon, he found the door that opened into the basement and climbed down the stairs. However, instead of the expected darkness, the basement subtly glowed with a mysterious blue light.
The first thing he saw after he reached the end of the steps was a massive chest of glowing blue energy open and exposed to the air for people to feel its immense power.
