Chapter 15: Donnerwall(4)

Chapter 15 - Donnerwall(4)

"Can't you walk?" I asked. Ian Von Nachtwald, the kid I saved, was now riding on my back.. Why though? Because this guy is scared to walk.

He did not say anything and just shook his head burying his face in my shoulders. I can't blame him for it, he was literally kidnapped by a scary-looking guy and then almost got sold off to a trader. After which I came into play and killed two people in front of a Nine-year-old.

Well, at least I saved him from getting ravaged by some crazy mage woman.

I walked through the streets which were still filled with people, it was only like 1:00 P.M.? If I look at the sun which was right above me.

"So," I said, gently nudging Ian with my shoulder, "where are your brother and sister?"

"They were with me at the train station a-and t-then," His voice started wavering.

"I understand, let's just go to the train station," I said not bothering him further. He was still a little scared of me.

"Big brother," He called out to me, pulling my shoulders with his small hands.

"Yeah?"

"How did you..." He trailed off.

"What?" I asked again.

"H-How did you get so strong?" He asked his eyes brimmed with light.

"I am not that strong though" I replied nonchalantly remembering the fight with Alea, where I was handled like I was some toy.

"N-No You are!" He stated his face burned with determination, "A-and you looked so cool..."

"What?"

"Nothing!"

"Thank you, I guess" I replied with a smile, "Oh, we are here"

I stopped in front of a building with a sign saying "Bahnhof" meaning train station in German. The outer walls of the station were made with dark grey stone bricks with a proper finished look.

"Now walk, Okay?" I put Ian down gently on the ground.

"Yes," He complied.

Smiling at his answer, we both approach the entrance of the station. Inside crowds of people gathered—some on the platform and some just idling around on the benches.

"So, do you know where those guys picked you up?" I asked looking around the station for Selene, I knew her features. So, it won't be too hard to find her.

"Yes, near the first platform" He replied pointing towards the left side of platform areas. There were in total Seven platforms in this station from left to right.

Walking alongside Ian, his small hand in mine, I couldn't shake this feeling off—I felt like an older brother, maybe even a father guiding his child.

[Well, you are acting like one] Dante jumped in with his usual remarks.

'Yeah, Yeah'

As we reached the first platform, Ian suddenly let go of my hand and ran toward someone I recognized. Her emerald hair was tied in a long and single ponytail and her golden eyes matched with that of Ian. She was wearing a blue dress that complemented her hair well.

Selene Von Nachtwald, a sub-heroine.

"Sister!" Ian shouted as he bumped right into her, rubbing his face against her.

"Ian! Where have you been? You know Brother Lucas was worried for you" She said hugging him tightly.

"You know, that big brother over there..." Ian's words blurred as my mind focused on the two before me. I let out a small smile and slowly turned on my heel. It was better that way, I wouldn't have to watch the scene unfolding.

[Are you alright?] Dante asked his voice laced with concern.

'Yeah, I was just feeling a bit Jealous' I replied, my smile slowly fading. 'You know, back on Earth, I did not really have anyone I could call a brother or a friend. I was just alone...'

[Well this time, you do have people who care about you, including me] Dante reassured, his tone warm and soft.

'Yeah, I know'

"Excuse me," I turned around hearing someone call me—It was Selene.

"Yes?"

"I—No, me and my brother truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts," She said lowering her head before me.

"I-it's okay!" I said raising my hands, this was a bit uncomfortable for me. I am not someone who is used to receiving gratitude from others, so it was a first.

"No, how can I truly pay you back for such kindness? Is there anything you want?" She persisted.

"Fine, you can give me some gold to buy my ticket," I said, there was no fucking way I am not gonna get anything in return so a few coins should be fine, right?

"Is that all?" Selene asked tilting her head sideways, her face screamed that she had questions for me but I am sorry Miss Sub-Heroine, I gotta go.

"Yes," I mumbled.

She tapped on her ring and a pouch came out with the sound of coins clinking together. She grabbed my hands with hers, her skin was smooth and soft. She placed the coin pouch over my palms, "This is quite less for your deed but please take it,"

"Okay,"

"And yes," She smiled, "Can I know your name, Mister?"

"Ethan Walker" I replied not sharing my current name, "And you, My Lady?"

"Selene Von Nachtwald,"

"So lady Selene, I think I should say my goodbyes here," I suggested placing my hand on my chest and bowing down.

"Yes, it was good knowing you, Sir Ethan" She replied.

"Likewise," Saying that I waved towards Ian who, "Don't get kidnapped again—Next I won't be there,"

"Yes!" He shouted waving cheerfully with his hands, seeing that I let out a soft smile. 'Bastard is quite lucky'

Thinking that I started walking towards the counter leaving them both behind. Now that everything was over, it was time to leave Donnerwall and head for the countryside village where my Aunt's estate is—Rasendorf.

Staring at the quite amusing young man departing, Selene then turned on her heels and faced her little brother Ian. She extended her hands and plucked at his ear, pulling it upwards.

"Ou-Ouch..."

"Next time, don't go on your own—understand?" She said her tone tinged with anger but also concern. If not for that man Ethan, her brother would've been sold off.

"Yes, big sister... Ouch!" He cried, "Please stop!"

She released his ear from her fingertips and watched as Ian slowly massaged his red ear. "Now, you will tell me everything that happened, okay?"

"Ian!" This time another voice which was of a male echoed. Selene turned around to see her elder brother running towards them.

He stopped on his feet right in front of Ian and grabbed his shoulders, "Huff...Huff...Wh-where did you run off to?" Lucas asked his face contorted with concern and anger at the same time.

"He was kidnaped," Selene interjected, "And was saved by a boy named Ethan"

"Where is sir Ethan?" Lucas asked now facing Selene.

"He just left,"

"Sigh... I wanted to thank him," Lucas exhaled regretting not being on time.

"I did the part don't worry, he was overall a nice guy," Selene said, "Now, as I was saying you will tell me everything, right?" She turned towards Ian.

"Yes!"

Three of them approached a bench and sat on them. Ian was now telling everything about how he was kidnapped and how the scarred man was trying to sell him to a slave trader—in detail.

"And you know!" Ian jumped up, "How cool Brother Ethan was!?"

Selene and Lucas chuckled looking at their youngest brother as he was describing how Ethan had saved him by killing the two men.

"He grabbed him by his face and bam! Purple lightning surged out from his palms! It was so cool!"

"Wait," Lucas intervened, "Did you say purple lightning?"

"Uh yes," Ian stared at his brother who was now in deep thought, his eyes were closed and his hands supported his chin.

"What's the matter, Big Brother?" Selene asked looking at Lucas.

"Purple Lightning..." Lucas mumbled and suddenly jumped up from his seat.

"Wait, that man Ethan in which direction did he go?" Lucas asked.

"Towards the ticket counter," Selene said tilting her head, "But why? What happened?"

"How did he look like?" Lucas pressed.

"Umm, he was quite chubby and cute looking with light blue hair and amber eyes and he was wearing basic iron armor on top of a plain brown tunic," Selene said, "But why? Do you know him?"

"He is a member of the Blitzfeld Family," Lucas whispered to Selene to make sure no one was hearing his words.

"What!?" Selene also stood up from the bench, staring at her brother with disbelief, "What do you mean? Ethan does not even resemble anyone from the family"

"And last I remember there was no one named Ethan in the Blitzfeld—only Sir Micheal, Sir Ikaris, Lady Alea, Sir Noah, and their youngest daughter of Nine years, Emily."

"But still a purple hue of lightning only appears when the wielder has the legacy of Thorvian—and only Blitzfeld in the whole continent has the Strom God's Legacy" Lucas countered.

"So... you mean..."

"Yes, it was a Blitzfeld" Lucas stroked his chin, "But who?"
