"Our apologies for stopping you, here is your apprentice badge." The sensible-looking guard out of the two said while averting his gaze.

"No worries, you were just doing your job," Lucas stated with a smile.
"Wow, that smile is so creepy with all that blood," Arin stated bluntly making the two guards shiver.
"Shut up" Lucas rubbed his sleeve across his face, but the dried blood cracked and flaked off, sticking stubbornly to his skin. He grimaced, feeling the rough, sticky patches under his fingers as he tried to scrape them away.
"I would like to go back and get a bath now, if you can excuse me." He said again and the two guards just nodded toward him with courtesy.
Both Arin and Lucas went by the gate without any more troubles but just when they were going to leave for the workshop, another trouble came knocking.
"Excuse me"
A man in a very expensive-looking metal armor came toward them. Lucas frowned inwardly yet he didn’t show it on his face.
"Yes?" he asked with the politest tone he could muster.

"I am the commander of this south gate’s post, name’s Jason." The guy in the good-looking armor said with a smile.
Lucas shook the guy’s hand and greeted too, the commander even gave Arin a handshake.
"First, I would like to apologize for my comrade’s misbehavior. I will make sure they know what a disciple token is next time." The commander bowed a little toward Lucas.
Lucas was a little taken aback seeing such an important person bowing in front of him, the same things happened in the prison cell yet Lucas could feel this man’s rank was above those people too.
Seeing as Arin didn’t have much of a reaction from the bowing, Lucas helped the commander stand straight again.
The blood stains on his body had already dried.
"Please don’t bow in front of me, it was my mistake to come here like this." Lucas looked around his body and found that he was really dirty right now.
But what could he do? his people in the Plains of Amaeron had desensitized him a lot. Lucas used to come in his territory all blood-covered and Ella used to just send him to get a bath.
The commander was a little surprised because of Lucas yet he gave a big smile to him.
The commander was not a young person, Lucas could see white hair here and there on his face and head. Even the skin around his eyes had some wrinkles.
"Thank you for being so understanding." The commander said and Lucas could tell he was a little hesitant from saying what he wanted to say.
"Commander, I don’t mind, say anything you’d like." Lucas tried being as approachable as possible. The commander could sense the sincerity behind those words.
It was his big chance! To improve his social skills and have a polite persona when needed.
"That’s a relief, you are different from the other important apprentices. So… Would you like to freshen up in our building here? It would be great if you don’t go inside the town like this." The commander was still a little hesitant about speaking and Lucas finally understood the reason, he was an apprentice, a person under the protection of a master alchemist.
If Lucas killed a person in the town, he was sure even that wouldn’t be a big enough crime to get him in prison if his master showed up.
"Commander, you are right." Lucas replied with a smile and continued, "So I will take you up on your offer, But why are you hesitant while talking toward me? You’re strong. Strong has the privilege to have pride." Lucas looked at the commander with excitement.
He could feel the power coming out of the man, he was as strong as John, and seeing the kind of armor and weapon the commander was wielding, it showed how much professional training he had. Something which his people lacked due to no knowledge whatsoever.
The commander once again was at a loss of words but then a few laughs came out of him.
"If only that was true, Mr. Apprentice. But the world doesn’t work like that." The commander had the face of a teacher right now, the same as John.
"I am still very inexperienced but forgive me if I said anything wrong."
"No no, please. If someone saw a master trade’s apprentice apologize to me like that, things would get difficult for me." The commander said with embarrassment.
Lucas just nodded, he didn’t think he should continue this conversation anymore seeing the awkwardness the commander was feeling.
’Ugh, it feels like all the worlds are like this, even on earth, it didn’t matter how strong you are, only the ones with actual power had the authority… But not in my territory."
An unknown glint formed in his eyes as Lucas got an idea, he just inwardly smiled and waited for his return to the Plains of Amaeron again.
"Shall we?"
"Sure."
With the commander as the guide, Lucas and Arin made their way in the office building.
It was made for government officials like the commander.
"I can’t believe that I am inside here." Arin was on his toes. Lucas chuckled seeing him try to look at almost everything with dumbfoundedness.
"What’s so nice here? I mean, don’t get me wrong, but this is a building as normal as the others." Lucas said near Arin’s ears yet he knew that the commander had heard about it.
"There goes your arrogant ass talking as if everything is normal, if not for you, I would not get a single opportunity to enter a government building my whole life."
"Hahahahaha, it’s not such a big privilege, hunter. With a little effort, even you can sit in one of these buildings too."
The commander seemed to be in a good mood listening to Arin keep good mouthing his building.
Lucas looked around a little and found that the interior was the same if not worse than his master’s workshop. Yet he did not realize that his case was a little different.
"How do you know that I am a hunter?" Arin felt a little embarrassed after looking at his clothes and bow, it was clear that he was a hunter.
"You’re Arin, right? Your tales are very popular among us."
