Chapter 306 - 303-Wait… This Is Really for Me?!

Velen frowned.

He had been really looking forward to this labyrinth formation. It was supposed to be the ultimate tool for dealing with enemies. But if it could be destroyed so easily, then what was the point of setting it up in the first place?

"System, in the Tycoon Guardians, is there anyone who's an expert in magic array formations?"

Just as he spoke, a refined-looking white-haired man stepped out from within the sanctuary.

"Master! I'm the magic array expert you're looking for."

He approached Velen with graceful steps, then knelt respectfully on one knee.

"You're not wearing golden armor… Out of the ten of you, what rank are you?" Velen asked curiously.

"Master, I'm ranked fifth," the white-haired man answered without hesitation.

"Fifth? You're actually stronger than the One-Eyed guy?"

Velen looked a little surprised.

"Master, please take out all the Phantasmal Spiritstones you have. I'll immediately set up a super-powerful labyrinth formation for you."

The white-haired man spoke with confidence.

As Velen continued pulling out chunk after chunk of Phantasmal Spiritstone, the man began constructing arrays with such complexity that even the Illusory Demon Elder—who had spent his life studying such things—found them utterly incomprehensible.

"I came all the way here and didn't contribute a thing... Now I'm the scapegoat?"

Illusory Demon Elder felt deeply aggrieved.

Because of one casual comment, Velen had obliterated the sanctuary's ancient sword stele core. And now that it was time to build the actual labyrinth, he, the supposed array expert, was completely left out.

Why didn't Velen call this guy out earlier if he had such a powerful array master at his side? Now I just look like an absolute fool!

Before long, the white-haired man had completed the labyrinth formation.

"Master! The labyrinth formation is ready. If anyone dares attack the Phantasmal Spiritstones, the enhanced Great Divine Magic Array will immediately activate. At the same time, the Invincible Defensive Magic Array will deploy."

"These two integrated systems will fully protect the entire labyrinth. And the best part? It burns through Stellar Cores like crazy. Advanced mana crystals aren't even enough to trigger the system. It needs millennia-aged Stellar Cores to activate."

The white-haired man presented his work to Velen with pride.

Upon hearing this, Velen's eyes lit up.

This Fifth really gets me!

"Wait! How are the ten thousand pieces of Phantasmal Spiritstone going to move? I want the layout to change at will."

Velen suddenly thought of this crucial detail.

"Master, I've extracted a bit of material from each of the ten thousand spiritstones to create this crystal."

He took out a palm-sized, mirror-like object.

"This will serve as the new core of the labyrinth formation. Once someone offers a drop of blood to bind it, they'll gain full control over the entire system. They'll be able to rearrange the labyrinth however they want—move the stones, reshape the paths—completely dynamic."

"And as long as this crystal remains intact, the entire formation can be disassembled and reassembled elsewhere without any limitations on how many times it can be moved."

The man held the crystal with both hands as he explained.

"Last question," Velen said, eyes narrowing. "Exactly how powerful are the upgraded Great Divine Magic Array and the Invincible Defensive Magic Array?"

"If fully powered with Stellar Cores," the white-haired man said with absolute confidence, "the Invincible Defensive Magic Array can withstand simultaneous full-power attacks from a million demi-god level cultivators."

"If the enemy force is smaller than that, they shouldn't even dream of breaking through."

"As for the upgraded Great Divine Magic Array—as long as Stellar Core supply is uninterrupted—no matter how many powerful enemies show up, they'll all die."

Illusory Demon Elder stood beside them, mouth hanging open.

"You silver-haired lunatic, are you seriously bragging this hard? You know the kind of people you're talking about—those are the top-tier elites of the upper plane universe! And you're acting like they're some neighborhood thugs!"

But just as the elder rolled his eyes, Velen casually tossed the crystal to him.

"Illusory Demon Elder, I'm too busy to mess around with the labyrinth myself. I'm giving this crystal to you."

"Hurry up, bind it with blood. Let me see how powerful this thing really is."

As he spoke, Velen also pulled out a space ring from his system inventory and tossed it over.

"There's a hundred million advanced mana crystals in there. Use them however you want to activate the array."

"What? You guys are… serious?"

"This—this is really for me?!"

Illusory Demon Elder was trembling. One hand clutched the ring full of mana crystals, the other held the formation core.

He had lived for over ten thousand years—but never, never had he seen so many advanced mana crystals in his life. And now he was about to take control of one of the most terrifying labyrinth arrays ever created.

Velen watched his hands shake uncontrollably and felt just a tiny bit disappointed.

Man… if only it had cost me even more to get that reaction. I could've earned even more Luxury Points.

Soon, Velen and Illusory Demon Elder stepped into the labyrinth.

Terrifying streams of magical energy began firing through the maze, shaking even the space around them.

Both of them flinched in surprise.

Velen didn't know exactly how powerful these energy waves were—but anything that could disturb the very fabric of space in the upper plane universe had to be on a whole different level.

Illusory Demon Elder was even more dumbfounded. He had studied the original Great Divine Magic Array his whole life, but this upgraded version was on a completely different plane of power.

"Take your time to study it," Velen said with a nod. "I'm heading back to Titan Tower."

"If you burn through all the mana crystals, just come find me."

"Oh, right. The Sanctuary Master and the three elders are currently hosting the recruitment ceremony. Once they're back, we'll use them to test how powerful the array really is."

Illusory Demon Elder was so caught up in manipulating the Phantasmal Spiritstones and shifting the labyrinth's layout that he barely noticed Velen leave.

Ding! Congratulations, Host!

You've successfully consumed today's special item.

Reward: 1x Stellar Potion.

Ding! Congratulations, Host!

You've triggered a High-Tier Tycoon Behavior.

Reward: 500,000 Luxury Points!

Hearing the system's cheerful alerts, Velen sighed.

He had originally planned for Illusory Demon Elder to take the lead, hoping to hand him a small reward afterward. Maybe he could trigger a few more luxury-related actions, even squeeze out a few extra Stellar Potions.

But in the end… the elder hadn't helped at all.

"System," Velen asked suddenly, "I gave out one hundred million advanced mana crystals in one go. Is that still within the standard range for 'special item usage'? Why didn't you give me a heads-up?"

Ding!

"In the upper plane universe, the host hasn't once asked for ten billion offhand like in the lower plane universe. So the system didn't think it was necessary to negotiate with the host!"

Velen chuckled at the response.

So the system did remember the past.

He turned to the white-haired man, admiration in his eyes.

"With that stylish silver hair of yours, I'm naming you Little White from now on. You did great today. What kind of reward do you want?"

Little White's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Master, I want to go outside and play for a day!"

Just as Velen was about to ask the system if that was allowed, he remembered—he'd already relaxed the restrictions on using Tycoon Guardians members.

"Alright then," Velen smiled. "You can play for a day. Just don't cause any trouble."
