Chapter 628
Chapter 628 - 628
Under the power of Creation, Magneto's X-gene was rapidly enhanced, and with the influence of Chaos Magic, the invisible restraints in his mind were utterly shattered.
Syd even used his Creation ability to discreetly extend Magneto's lifespan.
"I... right now..."
Watched closely by Toad and the others, Magneto slowly raised his hands and stared at them in a daze.
A moment later, he tentatively activated his mutant ability.
Under the astonished gazes of Toad and the others, he floated into the air, ripples like waves forming around his body.
In the next instant, countless materials on the ground rose into the air, and nearby buildings began to disassemble inch by inch.
In a blink, a wide swath of structures was heavily damaged, and a massive amount of debris floated in the sky, blocking out the sun.
Even worse, an unintentional electromagnetic pulse released during Magneto's manipulation of the magnetic field swept across the city—paralyzing countless electronic devices.
"Oh my God!"
"What's going on?!"
Cries of alarm echoed across the city.
Fortunately, Magneto snapped out of it just in time and hurriedly deactivated his power. Otherwise, the entire city might have collapsed within minutes.
Staring at the buildings he had inadvertently destroyed and the masses of floating debris still suspended in the air, Magneto muttered in shock, "This... this is my power?"
Feeling this almost omnipotent strength, even he couldn't help but feel intoxicated.
"I think I could destroy a city with ease now..." he whispered to himself.
While Magneto was lost in thought, Toad, Sabretooth, and the others were completely dumbfounded.
"Lord Magneto?!"
"What terrifying power..."
The sight before them filled their hearts with dread. It was now painfully clear how powerful Magneto had become after being transformed by Messiah.
It was simply unbelievable.
Their eyes flickered between Magneto and Messiah, their hearts shaken.
Never mind Magneto—Messiah actually had the ability to grant such power to others?
Suddenly, their gazes toward Messiah became heated with desire.
"If only Messiah could help us too..."
Just imagining it made their hearts pound with anticipation.
Meanwhile, Syd ignored the blazing stares of Toad and the others, keeping his eyes on Magneto and the floating debris overhead.
He wasn't surprised at Magneto's display of city-destroying power.
After all, even Apocalypse's enhancement had allowed Magneto to do something similar. With both Creation and Chaos Magic involved, it was expected that the result would be even more terrifying.
And this was just the beginning of Magneto's secondary mutation. He hadn't even fully mastered his new powers yet.
Once he did...
Syd hesitated slightly. Did I just unleash a monster?
With his current strength, Magneto might very well be capable of establishing an entire nation for mutants.
But he quickly shook his head, brushing the thought aside.
"Not my problem. If there's trouble, it's the American government's mess to clean up."
He didn't care what happened to the U.S.
Besides, with Professor X and the others around, Magneto probably wouldn't do anything too crazy.
...Hopefully.
Not thinking further on it, Syd turned his attention back to Magneto and said, "Now that your secondary mutation is complete, I'll be leaving."
He was about to depart when Magneto suddenly called out, "Wait!"
Syd paused and turned to look at him, curious to hear what he wanted to say.
Magneto's expression was incredibly complicated.
Staring at Messiah not far away, and feeling the immense power now coursing through his body, he couldn't help but ask, "Why did you help me?"
Toad, Sabretooth, Mystique, and the others were also filled with confusion.
Under their expectant gazes, Syd answered calmly, "No reason. I just felt like it."
That left them all speechless.
Just felt like it? Was it really that casual?
As they stood there dumbfounded, Syd added, "Anyway, I'm leaving now."
With matters concerning both Professor X and Magneto taken care of, it was time for him to return and continue using Dreamwalking to light up the universe and gather energy points to accelerate his path to the multiverse level.
In the next second, he activated spatial transference. As the ripples spread, he vanished from sight right before their eyes.
Staring at the spot where he disappeared, Magneto's gaze grew even more conflicted.
Sigh... if only he'd agreed to join the Brotherhood.
He felt a pang of regret.
At the same time, he couldn't help but marvel at Messiah's ability.
To grant someone a secondary mutation at will?
In just a brief moment, his power had skyrocketed to the point of being able to annihilate a city. The boost was simply unimaginable.
So then... how powerful was Messiah himself?
While Magneto was deep in thought, Mystique—Raven—rushed over and warned, "Erik, the government's definitely detected the anomaly here. We need to leave!"
Magneto blinked.
The massive commotion surely alerted government agencies. In fact, they'd probably already pinpointed their location.
Out of instinct, and following his old habits, his first thought was to evacuate.
After all, they weren't like Messiah or the White-Clad Hero—who could fly boldly over cities without fear of retaliation from the American government.
Every mutant in the Brotherhood was precious and couldn't be risked unnecessarily.
But then... Magneto paused.
He suddenly realized something.
After Messiah's transformation, he wasn't the same anymore.
A wicked grin crept onto his face.
"Why should we run?"
Raven and the others were stunned.
...
While Magneto and his group were still discussing, back at Xavier's School, Professor X and the others were frozen in disbelief.
Moments earlier, after Messiah left, Chris had said he had something to tell them about him.
At first, no one took it seriously—but once Chris hesitated and then spoke up, they were left completely dumbfounded.
"Chris, what did you say? Syd is the child of Professor X and Magneto?" Logan asked, stunned.
"Chris, man, that's not even funny!"
Logan was speechless. His first reaction was to think Chris was joking.
After all—what sane person would believe something that absurd?
Messiah is the child of Professor X and Magneto?
Hah...
Even Professor X himself, Charles, couldn't help but chuckle helplessly. "Chris, that's quite the joke..."
Everyone was expecting Chris to admit he was just kidding.
But instead, Chris shook his head solemnly and said with great seriousness, "I'm not joking. It's true."
