Harlow and Charlotte didn’t use her car to leave or accept Alanis’s ride offer. Both women decided to take the train instead. They didn’t head straight home and Grandma Hamilton decided they shopped together.

They arrived before a boutique and Harlow paused in her steps. She stopped in her tracks because this wasn’t just any boutique, this was the biggest boutique in the country. A boutique for the wealthy.

They have all the latest clothes and jewels from top brands in the world. She knew of this place because it was Claudia’s and Elisa’s favorite shopping place. They bought her here once and she watched them both shop together. The Blackwoods were hosting their annual party and came here to buy their dresses while picking up just any dress at a street market for her, but her dress turned out way better than theirs.

Harlow smiled at her thoughts. "What are you doing standing there, come let’s go." Harlow quickly followed her in. She had no idea the Hamilton’s shopped here too.

The inside of the boutique might be of the same size as a mall, but rather than having more than one item, it was filled with clothes of different brands and styles from the top to the bottom. Harlow was in awe.

The place looks even better than she remembered. "How do we find a dress suitable for you?" Harlow remarked.

"Who says I’m here to get just a dress? I have a brand I’m looking for." Grandma Hamilton said and started walking away.

She walked till they were standing before a brand which read, ’VELARI’. Only then did Harlow realize that is actually the brand Grandma Hamilton has been wearing all this while. It was normal for rich people to stick to a brand except her stepmother and step-sister.

Elisa and her daughter loved the idea of testing different brands. Frank stuck to his tailor. He rarely buys his clothes from any boutique or shop. Frank had his tailor who created the different designs he wore.

As for Harlow, she wears whatever she sees and never tries to wear brands. That’s because since she was a child, she has always been taught not to like those fancy clothes and that she wasn’t worth it. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

Harlow has lived in Claudia’s shadows for so long. Elisa will never let her look better than her sister ever. She would always wear her sister’s remains till she grew up.

She recalled her relationship ever had been nothing more than a prank. That day she was laughed at and mocked by her sister, but Alanis came to her rescue. It’s the first time he’s ever helped anyone or cared before. Maybe that’s why she had a crush on him because she thought he could feel it. She had no idea why she thought a heartless man would ever feel anything.

She had imagined him to be her Knight in shining armor. Each time she thinks about that man, the pain from her previous life hunts her over again. She had everything he did, she had watched her little boy burn to dust.

Alex was so innocent, he should not have been Alanis’s revenge plan on her.

"I’ve found what I’m looking for." Charlotte’s words brought her back to reality. She selected two beautiful dresses. One was in darker green and the other a black color.

"Have you decided what to wear dear?" Charlotte called out to her daughter-in-law only to see tears down her face.

"You’re crying." Charlotte reached for her and she used her thumb to wipe the tear drops that ran down to her cheeks. Harlow was hurting, her heart still hurt to this very moment. She hated the entire Hamilton family and her own family too.

Though it would take time, she would hurt them too.

"I’m not buying anything grandma, I don’t think I want to attend the dinner." She said.

"But why not, it’ll just be me, you, and Alanis ." Grandma Hamilton tried to convince the young girl.

Alanis does not deserve her attention. She shouldn’t be sitting and dining with a man who once took advantage of her. A man who killed their son. Alex would have been alive with her now if he had only performed his one duty which was being a father.

She didn’t care if he was a good husband, but he was bad at everything. He would rather spend all of his time with Claudia than with his son. She called him many times, she begged to get him to talk to her. Alex cried for him every day, all he ever wanted before his death was a little quality time, but he got none.

"Nonsense, even if you don’t wear the clothes today, you can wear them whenever," Charlotte said to her daughter-in-law as they moved amongst the beautiful clothes hanging around.

"I hear your sister has a birthday party next two weeks, why don’t you buy something to attend the party?" Grandma Hamilton asked.

"My father is looking for me Grandma, that’ll only give them more chances at me." Harlow wiped the remaining tears with the back of her hands. She had no idea she had been crying all along.

"The Hamilton will protect you, Harlow. You’re also a Hamilton don’t forget that." Charlotte placed her hands on her shoulder. "We will protect you at all costs." Harlow nodded.

"Now let’s get you a dress." Both ladies started moving around the place till Harlow found the perfect dress she needed. It was a silver little dress. The perfect dress for the party.

After their shopping, they walked to the counter to pay for the items they purchased. Harlow was about to bring out her card when Grandma Hamilton held her hands. "Save that for the rainy days, let this old woman pay for this." She said cheerfully.

"Besides this is Alanis’s card, and he doesn’t know about it." She whispered next to her daughter-in-law’s ears.

The cashier swiped the card and it immediately went through.

When both women were done shopping, they both went back to Harlow’s little apartment.
